The National Enquirer and Star magazines jointly broke the news of Owen Wilson's alleged suicide.
Well, it's no longer alleged.
TV's Extra has confirmed that Wilson did try and take his own life, and they have official documentation to prove it.
Extra has obtained the Calls for Service report from the Santa Monica Police Department, which lists the reason for the 911 call from Owen Wilson’s house as an “attempted suicide.”
The call was received on Sunday, August 26 at 12:08:16 p.m. The incident was “cleared” almost five hours later at 5:07:16pm.
There is still no clear motive for the attempted suicide, though numerous theories run rampant.
Thankfully Owen is in good condition now and hopefully he will get the mental health help that he needs going forward.

Pull yourself together…you are 38! Your problems indicate too much time on your hand…not meaning in life…even though the money you have would help you alot to start many meaningful projects beside acting. Why not withdraw to Texas with your family, seek guidance outside the Tinseltown circle and settle down. You are not 22 anymore and better realize it. This is the life circle…take freaking charge of your life, give it meaning, get a family and you will gain much more than the emptyness of Hollywood. Owen, you are georgeous…but behave like a kid. Start being a man! STart a business, get married and have some kids. This will refocus and your life will fall into place. Your parents made it…..ask them for guidance..life is not easy…but so much easier with a meaning.

Thank goodness he wasn't successful with the attempt, suicide is never the answer. My cousin hung himself just because his girlfriend dumped him. There's always more fish in the sea folks! And better deserving too.

This is really awful. I love Owen! If it is trouble in the lady department myself and I'm sure many women are availble for him! I just hope he gets better and recovers. I think Owen Wilson is adorable. I am sending him my positive thoughts and really hope he can get through this bad patch right now and be happy again . Hollywood, money or famous dates have nothing to do with depression. Anyone who has been close to someone with depression knows it is chemical, treatable and scary.

More than likely Kate with a new man probably made him despondent. Anybody can feel really bad at any time. So glad he made it, that someone found him in time, and that he'll be back. He has a new movie he's going to begin working on soon. Owen Wilson shows that anybody, no matter how charmed a life you think they have, can be feeling a lot of pain. Owen Wilson had an argument with someone prior to his suicide attempt. Perhaps this was one of the precipitating events that spurred an already depressed man to complete a plan for suicide. Did he argue with Wes Anderson, maybe? If so, I hope that Anderson understands that this is not his "fault". In any event, Owen's in my prayers, as are his family members and friends. I'm glad he's alive and I wish him complete recovery.

Depression hits people from every walk of life. My husband attempted suicide earlier this year (Thank God he didn't succeed)…people ask..why would he do that? He has everything. It doesn't matter who you are or where you are from, depression can kill and some people can't find a way out. Very sad. I feel sad for Owen and his loved ones and I hope that he gets the help he needs.

ALL: Don't be so SURE that one day you won't fall into a suicidal depression.
Genes, bad diet, drug/alcohol use, stress, some medicines…all components or triggers of this DISEASE. If someone had cancer you wouldn't say "snap out of it"..cancer is caused by an imbalance in the body as is depression. And also think that this poor man is going to be in bad shape mentally for at least 8 weeks so it won't help him to be exposed to all of the hideous headlines and nasty comments. Have some compassion, please!
I feel bad for the guy, but all of you that are going on and on about his privacy should consider the fact that keeping his problems private until now didn't stop him from almost killing himself. If he's so depressed that he did try to die, I'm guessing he was at rock bottom and this isn't going to make him feel any worse. Me and my husbands good friend and temporary housemate just shot himself in our kitchen 2 Thursdays ago. Amazingly he is still alive. SUICIDE IS A SELFISH THING TO DO. Now that he is going to live through it he will see how many people he has hurt and affected by doing something so stupid. Life is never that bad… YOU CAN ALWAYS BOUNCE BACK.
