The National Enquirer and Star magazines jointly broke the news of Owen Wilson's alleged suicide.
Well, it's no longer alleged.
TV's Extra has confirmed that Wilson did try and take his own life, and they have official documentation to prove it.
Extra has obtained the Calls for Service report from the Santa Monica Police Department, which lists the reason for the 911 call from Owen Wilson’s house as an “attempted suicide.”
The call was received on Sunday, August 26 at 12:08:16 p.m. The incident was “cleared” almost five hours later at 5:07:16pm.
There is still no clear motive for the attempted suicide, though numerous theories run rampant.
Thankfully Owen is in good condition now and hopefully he will get the mental health help that he needs going forward.

Man, I did NOT see this one coming. I had heard rumours of drug abuse, but never in a million years did I think this great, funny guy would want to end it all. Shows you what a living hell depression can be (yup, I've been there and now at 40 with a happy life I'm so glad I never made the attempt — think of all the great stuff I would have missed!). Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem and you don't want to go there again when there are medications out there that can help you. Best wishes to Owen and to his family and friends that love him.

I have to say I think that it is horrible that you have chosen to publish such a private incident. Owen is clearly going through a troubled time and the last thing he needs is for everyone knowing about the incident. AFTER he respectfully asked for his space during this difficult time you still decided to comment on this matter. Some of these postings are very disturbing. Mental illness IS real, not just a bunch of symptoms and #104 and #105 are especially pissing me off with their commentaries. You can't just "snap out" of something like this and no matter how things look to others on the outside, it is what is going on inside that can afflict people with depression, bipolarity and a host of other stuff. Yes, we are spirit and life forces but we are also basically a bunch of chemicals. So telling someone not to seek psychiatric help or medicine or that they should "snap out of it" and get married and start a business and have a job have nothing to do with recovery either. Yes, routine is helpful but so are the right medications, if needed, and therapy. It IS in the head, but ISN'T, if you know what I mean. So don't diminish it. Some of the brightest, most brilliant, funniest, successful, attractive people are struggling with depression and other demons. Sadly, because of the many misconceptions out there, people with these afflictions often suffer even more because people say stupid things like "snap out of it" or "you LOOK fine! Get over it!" ERGH….I hope Owen gets the help and support he needs. And rest and a new outlook on his world. Believe me, it isn't always a cakewalk, no matter who you are.

Maybe what Owen needs is to get away from Hollywood to heal and connect with himself. I'm sure that Owen has plenty of $ to take care of himself. I've been suicidal before and it took YEARS of work on myself, forgiving myself and everyone around me, before I was healed.

My heart goes out to him and as I've scanned the other posts, several ring true for me, someone who also has "been there, done that". Its a crazy place, its true- depression doesn't discriminate. I think its almost more difficult for those who appear to "have it all" and I can only imagine how this must be compounded by everyone's expectations to be happy and funny 24/7.
Owen, give yourself some well needed space my friend. You have an illness, and with treatment, life can seem so much more manageable, and so much more "livable". Shut out negativity, and especially negative people- this is one thing that you can control. Take care Owen, you are in my thoughts and prayers…
