UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie has flown to Iraq to witness firsthand the humanitarian crisis there, the United Nations Refugee Agency UNHCR has announced.
Santa Angelina flew from New York to Syria on Monday. In Damascus, she visited a UNHCR registration center and spend hours talking to Iraqi refugees in their homes.
On Tuesday, the mother of four crossed over to Iraq to meet with 1,200 refugees camped out in a makeshift outpost at the border, because they are unable to leave the country.
"I have come to Syria and Iraq to help draw attention to the humanitarian crisis and to urge governments to increase their support for UNHCR and its partners," Jolie said in a statement. "My sole purpose in both countries is to highlight the plight of those uprooted by the war in Iraq."
Besides her activities for UNHCR, Jolie also met privately with American troops and other multi-national forces in the region.

Jolie's humanitarian efforts have taken her all over the world this year.

They have a nanny for each child. The nanny's are generally not seen in public. One can assume it is because it ruins the image of the 'perfect family'. I read an interview with her, which was in a hotel in LA_ she had spent the night before there, instead of at the home, because she said it was too noisy in the home with the fam.

So many of these comments are quite ignorant. First, many of the people here is the US are in a bad position because that is where they put themselves. Second, it is her money and time, why do so many people give a shit. Third, although she may not have the best track record, it takes two to tango, and it is not like she raped the men she slept with. They owed their wives the obligation, not her. Although, I know that does not take all the blame away from her, people make mistakes, and she has done much more good than bad. I used to be on team Jen, but what does she do other than think about herself. We have not heard of Jen doing any humanitarian work. In my opinion, I believe that Angelina has done what is good and right with the ridiculous amount of money she has made as an actress. Just think if there were more people that have her kind of resources doing the kind of work she does, it would be a much nicer world. And for her to go to Iraq, that shows her true devotion to good causes, and what an amazing person she is. I stopped watching her movies about 2 years ago, but now that she has kept up her humanitarian plight, I think I will start watching her again. It goes to show you that you can never judge a book by it's cover!

There're so many celebs are there who just sit on their millions and do nothing to use their money for good causes. Here's one that's actually trying to give back. Sure, she's not perfect and she's had issues in the past. But how many of us here are perfect? Every human is flawed in some ways. It's irresponsible to hate on Angie because we "assume" she broke up Pitt and Aniston. That's only what the public hears. How do we know Aniston wasn't cheating on Brad behind his back to begin with? And, I'm so glad she met with American troops…did she use any of her money to give them a real meal? Or make sure they had working AC's in their CHU's? Did she help equip communications centers with video, so children could 'see' their Daddy once a week?
While it's nice to see someone who cares for other people so much, it would also be nice for that love and attention to be directed at the country whose poplulous made her famous to begin with.

Hundreds of thousands of people have dedicated their lives to helping others- not just their free time in between shooting their latest film. So they;ve adopted some kids- great. Good for them. Thousands of people do each year, but you don't see them getting praised. Some people might argue that she uses her fame to draw attetnion to deeper issues- but I don't see any "deeper issues" being discussed other than "Angelina Jolie is a fucking saint! Look what she did this week- what a humanitarian!" People like her actually divert much-needed resources away from people and areas that need them the most. If you want to do charity work, do it, but don't fucking brag about ti to me. You'll always be the girl who made out in public with Billy-Bob and stole Jennifer Aniston's husband.
