The Jonai Disappoint At The Box Office - Big Time!

Who would have guessed????
Even with promised "surprise personal appearances" by the JoBros at random screenings, their 3-D film "experience" tanked big time this weekend!!!
The 3-D Concert Experience brought in nowhere near the projected $30-$40 million. In the end, it only earning Disney an estimated $12.7 million dollars in the U.S. Box Office!
How embarassing!!
Slutty Cyrus' Hannah Montana 3-D earned almost three times that amount in it's opening weekend - and it was in about half as many theaters!
And, to add insult to injury, the Jonai failed to grab the #1 spot at the Box Office. Tyler Perry's Medea film is #1 yet again.

I saw it with my two girls 10 and 4…the 4 year old is the BIGGEST FAN and she almost fell asleep after the first 30 minutes. They look like they don't "put much effort" into their concert and it showed on screen…all the other musicians looked like they were having a better time of it than the boys who looks like they were going through their paces like trained monkeys. A very MEH movie…Initially I just thought that it was poorly produced but honestly, I just don't think the Jonai have the stage presence that Slutty McCy has…(as much as it pains me to say that).

Credit to the fact the Miley's was a "One Week Only" and JB's will be in theatres for awhile. Fans can see it whenever they want. I work at a theatre and we've sold out tickets for the next week and a half but didn't sell out saturday or sunday.

Well I took my kids to see it and I thought it was a great film. However it was quite pricey at 15 dollars a ticket in this shiteous economy that is high especially if you have more than two kids. I have only two thankfully but that was still 45 dollars plus popcorn and drinks.

I dont think this is reflective of their popularity. I think it has more to do with the fact that millions of people are out of work and the tickets are selling for $15 a pop. Thats a lot of money expecially for a movie that only lasts at the longest 2 hours…

I wanted to take my kids, but ticket prices were too expensive. I am sure the economy hurt this more than anything. At $15+ per ticket, we can see it when it comes on on DVD.
I still love them, and it's kinda like double dipping since Jonas Brothers were in the hannah concert movie too (I went to see Miley's movie and the live concert just for them!), and it's not like they're any less impressive.
does it really matter? does miley or the jonas bros get a cut of these things or does disney get it all? if you want to have some reasons for the difference, the weather and the economy have both been crappy. BUT, either way,disney has got to be happy with it because the production costs for this have to be alot less then most movies. I saw the movie, AND LOVED IT! The music is great. I've always enjoyed their songs — which they write and and perform amazingly. So many of them I love. The boys are funny and JOE IS SO CUTE AND HOT!!! He should be illegal, he's so cute. Anyway, don't know if it is the economy or the snowstorms, or if people just discount them because they're young and disney, but that's bull. They're awesome and I'm glad I went. I went to their concert too with my kids and this was even better because you fell like you were close-up. I'm over 30 btw and my daughter wants the soundtrack for her Ipod and I'll have it on mine too. AWeSOME MOVIE GUYS!
