The Sarah Silverman Show may be no more if Comedy Central doesn’t pony up some cash!
Going into its third season, the WGA Award-nominated show saw its show budget cut by 20% by the cable network.
Comedy Central cited the crap economic times as the reason for the funding slash.
Insiders say the series’ budget for season three is $850,000, down from the $1.1 million an episode for the show’s second season.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, late last week, Silverman, on behalf of the executive producers, told the net that they can’t proceed with a third season without the money.
The news jolted the channel’s bosses into action to find a budget compromise that would keep the show on the air.
Both sides continued their back-and-forth during the weekend.
People close to the negotiations are optimistic that a compromise will be reached today, Monday.
