It's official!
Summit Entertainment has confirmed that little Dakota Fanning will play a blood-sucking vampire in New Moon, the second installment in the Twilight franchise.

I think thats ok. But they need to replace Kristen Stewart as Bella and find an actual actress with talent.

2 thoughts: First, new Moon is the Twilight book I like the least. All that "Zombie Bella" and Jacob is just boring. And so will be the movie.

Since when is Jane a fan favourite?? She is not even memorable as a character (not that any of them are really except for any cheap romance you can get out of Edward Cullen)
That said, I think Dakota Fanning is perfect for the role; she is exactly as I would picture Jane.
I don't mind her being in it. She's a good actress from what i've seen. Also, can all those who are STILL insulting Kristen back the hell off? She's not going to get fired so just zip it.

I think she'll play Jane well, the only thing is that she's gotten a bit too old, in the books, Jane is described as an angelic CHILD, dakota fanning isn't a child anymore, but I still think she'll do well!! SO STOKED for the movie! AHHH

what the hell!!! this totally just killed the movie!!! i liked the fact that twilight wasnt that huge and when it became a movie they chose actors that were not as well-known as others. it fit the film. they had rob and kristen, who were in other roles but were not as popular, in twilight that was a success but theyre adding a popular actress to the next film. especially where she wouldnt even play a huge part. what the hell is summit doing to this saga? i love the twilight series but theyre taking it wayyyy too far. All of this talk about making these movies asap; its like they dont care anymore. they already know how epic twilight is so theyre going to milk it for all its worth. this whole situation is really pissing me off. yeah, im happy for dakota, but she just doesnt fit this role. theyre rushing and half-assing everything. you cant just put someone who is well known in a movie with actors that are not as well known and give them a minor role. you just cant do it. it completely throws off the balance. the cullens and bella are the main characters. and with dakota, it will just draw attention to her which doesnt make sense because in all four books, her character is only mentioned in a small part of new moon, which is where her major role will be, and once more in breaking dawn - which they may not even make- so really, if you ask me, they made a poor decision. (end of rant.)

She's a great actress and all… but Twilight sucks and she doesn't need it. She's like 15 and is already at a high fame level… I think it might be a set back for her if New Moon doesn't do well and sequels don't really do better than the original movie.
