In a desperate attempt to gain ratings and claw her out of last place, the CBS Evening news is shipping Katie Couric to Iraq.
The chipmunk toothed news anchor will also travel to Syria and beginning Tuesday she will anchor the evening newscast from Baghdad and Damascus.

Whenever I watch the News I watch the Spanish News Channels, I can't understand what they say but all the women are smoking hot and young and have large breasts and show their legs. This is what Network News has to do to get back viewers

In life people should be thankful for what they have, once you've found your niche stick to it. It was a horrible mistake for Katie to leave NBC, it was a disaster for Meredith Viera to leave the View. Now they both have faded into obscurity.

I love Katic Couric. She is my role model and an inspiration to all. Her husband died of cancer and she has done A LOT to raise money and awareness of colon cancer. Reporting from the feild will give us a better perspective of the issues. Girls stop looking to whores like Paris and Lindsey as role models. Take a cue from Katie!

Don't worry though, CBS will hand you a nicely packaged golden parachute and you can move on gracefully with a multitude of excuses for a book. Just like the blonde chick that took over for Jane Pauley briefly. Third, for goodness sakes, don't do a Michael Dukakis and put on a helmet and try to drive around in a tank. It's stupid. Dukakis lost an election for that and other reasons and you'll just lose ratings. Fourth, are you going to cover your head with a scarf or not. Advice on that: Cover so as not to annoy the natives who think that Somebody Upstairs thinks woman should cover their heads. Perez, I am baffled by your dislike of Katie Couric. You never mention the fact that the CBS Evening News has been in third place since 1990, and although they certainly hoped new blood would turn their fortunes around, it might take more than just one year to reverse people's viewing trends. Do you ever actually watch the CBS Evening News? If you did, you would see a broadcast of great strength and seriousness of purpose, just as good if not better than the other two network's shows.

I like Katie, whenever I watch the evening news I tune in to her show for support. I'm not thrilled she's going to Iraq only because she's a single parent, but it's part of the job… How many of our single parent soldiers are over there doing their jobs while their kids are being raised by others??? That sucks too. I say go and do your job with faith, not fear. Maybe the news you report will finally give the people of this country what they need to stand up to Emporer Bush.
