This is pretty incredible!
Despite the smell of shit all around him, Chris Brown's "career" is not over yet and is seemingly unaffected by the whole Rihanna despicableness.
According to Soundscan, sales of Brown's most recent album, Exclusive, have remained steady in the weeks both before and after the alleged woman beating.
The album has been moving a steady 3,000 copies a week in the U.S. since late January.

Re: Break – While I can understand your opinions and based on the language on your responses, you seem to be an intelligent individual. As such, I hope you can also respect and understand my opinions. We can toggle back and forth all night but I have always been and will remain of the opinion that Mr. Bryant is not innocent. I did follow the case somewhat and 'yes' i have my doubts. Yes, the victim did have sexual relations after the supposed incident with Mr. Bryant but that does not say to me he did not rape her. She could be accused of being promiscuous but it does not make her claim of rape any less valid. If the tables were reversed and she was the celeb, I am sure there would be no issue about whom or when she may have had additional relations.

They aren't supporting him all that much. It's easy for his PR and marketing people to create the impression he's selling by havingbulk sales done very deliberately in multiple markets. They are going to make sure he looks strong and viable. But pictures of Rihanna's face all busted up say it all. That is going to really affect his status. It's like dominos. Just a light tap and they will all fall down. That is why all the hip hop and rap community are "worried about Chris" and that is why Rihanna has been pressured and "worked on" to stand by him, and not cooperate with the investigation. He is standing on a House of Cards. If she really goes back to him she'll be the loser. Cover Girl and Gucci don't like their spokespeople to be seen as punching bags. Too much drama. If she dumps him and stays classy, she will ride it out. If she goes back to him, they'll dump her because she fits the typical repeater profile of an abuse vicitm.
For all you people who like this loser and his shit music and who are saying he just made one mistake…shit like this starts gradually. First with verbal abuse and then slowly it starts to get physical. A beating like this was not a one time thing. To people who keep saying that Chris is just human and he just made one mistake. According to published police report, in her interview with the police right after the assault Rihanna told the investigators that there were many other times Chris physically abused her during their relationship, and that the abuse was becoming progressively more and more violent.
It wasn't a "one time mistake". Chris Brown is a woman-abuser and woman-beater.
By the way, several months before this February assault I've read that Rihanna was seen with bruises on her face/body, and now it all makes sense.

CELEBRITY CASE OR NOT, any half decent defense attorney is going to try to paint a picture of the victim that is not so appealing to a jury. They can in fact ask her questions about her sexual history ESPECIALLY if it's something that can be helpful to their case.
Unfortunately, the accused has a lot more rights than the victim.

I lived in residence with him at the time and he had all sorts of restrictions put on him. He wasn't allowed to be at school unless he was in class…..he had to leave immediately after. He could not attend any social events at the school (pub nights, concerts etc) and was not allowed to speak to his accuser or a specific group of her friends….he of course had his past probed and ripped apart just as his accuser did. He had to deal with going to school and having the stress of going to court to fight sexual assault charges at the same time. myself and his friends who knew about the situation knew he was innocent…but he had to deal with walking around with a question mark over his head when it came to a lot of people…and then there were those that were convinced that since she accused him he MUST have done it. He would tell me about walking into classrooms and having everyone turn around and stare at him (many of them glaring), about be pointed out on buses as "That rapist guy" and even having some guys protesting outside our dorm to "Kick out the rapist"…meanwhile the guilty one had NO restrictions put on her and could do whatever she wanted. She played the victim and a lot of people bought it…it was sick situation.

I've heard about Chris's childhood, living with an abusive father, who beat his mom. I'm sure he never wanted to be like his father, but if your past had abuse it's kinda going to make an imprint in your thoughts & all of a sudden you start doing it, no matter how many times you told yourself you were never going to do it, it's hard to get away from it. Trust me, it probably scared him as much as it scared her. My father's father was never there for him when he was growing up, & usually couldnt give

It's not that people want to support abuse, it's just hard to demonize a loved figure (be it a celebrity, or someone close to you - which is why it is so hard for people to leave abusive relationships). Someone doesn't turn into a monster overnight…
Look at Michael Jackson, even with all the child molestation scandals he is still loved, and that's just one example of many a forgiven star.
What Chris Brown did is wrong, all people can do for now is wait to see how this truly develops; but it's pretty naive to expect some massive boycott.
Also people keep calling him out for his 'apology' after everything went down, do people think his lawyers actually let him write that?!?! lol… or that he would admit to anything with a pending investigation?? What do you expect! That was the only thing written because it's the only thing a smart lawyer that's worth the money will let a client in serious shit write. 5th Amendment is a constitutional right, no matter how distasteful it may seem… legal troubles are no joke!
When the legal dust settles, more truths will come out. Still, don't be surprised if people still love him as an artist.

I've never been one to call people names regardless of what they did. I was taught at an early age by two amazing parents that it's just not the thing to do. Who are we to judge? It's funny how Gossip sites can praise someone one day and call them names the next. Even before they've been proven Guilty and even if and when they are; still, who are we to judge?
