I probably would be saying the same thing if I hadn't read Dreamland by Sarah Dessen which is about an abusive relationship. But she sticks with him because he'll hit her one second but the next he's extremely loving and genuine.

I think Chris Brown is so immature. After beating Rihanna up we see pictures of him jet-skiing and smiling what the hell is going on?what happen to counseling?I also blame the parents.especially Rihanna's. at times like this parents have to step in and say no.
I don't mean to defend Chris Brown, but I was in a similar situation a couple of years ago. My boyfriend and I were in a heated argument once and he hit me. We broke up for almost 2 months. We have been together for 5 years now and he has never even been close to doing it again, but of course he had counseling for some time.

if he's "creeping in the night" on her, and she's freaks out, starts violence, he escalates the violence, the police get involved - and afterwards she stays with him, to continue being his punching bag, to continue being the second/third/forth/fifth girl he's steppin out with, to continue provoking him and being provoked by him, she knows exactly what she wants - a player who doesn't love or respect her enough to treat her like a strong independent woman to go through life as his equal partner. Chris Brown is disturbed mentally which I think can be repaired, but if he pretends like it's no big deal and goes off to Miami and just tries to "fix it" in court so he can be with Rihanna and keep his career, he will NOT get better. Well Oprah is not saying anything new… it's sooo obvious that he will beat the hell out of her again, he is used to and he has no respect for her!
He was right, we can't use celebs to raise our kids or to set an example on them, we tend to put our celebrities on a pedestal and think they are not human and not able to make mistakes or have a public meltdown, we are pretty harsh on this people and we don't even know half about them or their private battles either with alcohol, drugs, anorexia, and others…
Now Rihanna and CB chose to be back together obviously they couldn't care less about what their fans think and what their own families think about this whole story, they are both too young to understand what they did with their careers, they might fail with their next attempts to revive their popularity and I am pretty sure that both of them will fail. I think they both have greedy ppl behind them doing their best to clean their images and have them back on tack cause they used to sell really good!

I find it very interesting how so many celebrities are exploiting this situation for ratings or to impress the public with their self-serving, aggrandizing statements. Everyone and their mother has an opinion about this. It's sort of sad really because the lives of two very young people are forever altered by this incident. I think that more people do need to speak out about violence within relationships and that it's not ok. I can understand why she would go back. It's hard to just let someone go when u have so many ties with them. No matter what if your famous your buisness is everyones. It seems also that evidently we have forgotten that things such as abuse even exist. everday there are ad campaigns to keep ppl off drugs or to not smoke. maybe now they will make ads for ppl that have to deal with abuse be it verbal or physical. It's really a reality check for everyone. It's that we are all ppl and we get ourselves into bad situations. This should be a learning experiance for everyone.

The reality is that most women in domestic violence situations leave approximately 10 times before they leave for good. They feel sorry for the abuser. They feel like he is a good person who has been misunderstood. They feel they can change him "love him into being someone better".
