Kanye West continues to knock at the art world’s door hoping someone will let him in already!
The self-proclaimed “artist” took a break from his numerous Kanye-centric endeavors to lend a hand to contemporary artist Vanessa Beecroft’s latest installation, VB64.
The installation, which debuted at Deitch Studios in Long Island City, NY, last weekend, is a live piece “staged in two parts – one room [holds] naked women painted totally white and splayed out on the floor, mixed in with wax and gesso sculptures of more women. Another room [features] sculptures of naked women painted black and lying on a table.”
Kanye slipped on his producing hat to contribute to the the video component of VB64 that screens alongside the live installation!
Sounds legit!
So what’s your interpretation of the piece, K?
“It’s just dramatic, compelling and emotional. I love the way she takes real women and turns them into models… That’s about as artsy-fartsy as I can go,” Kanye revealed to reporters.
How… insightful?
Words of a true artist, indeed!
