DRAMA At Britney Concert!!! Spears Puts Show On Hold Midway In

Ohhh, the irony!
Britney Spears, a smoker, put the breaks on her Vancouver concert Wednesday night because it was too smokey in the arena.
We shit you not!
The Toxic performer, who doesn't even sing live at her shows, walked off stage after just three songs.
The concert came to a complete standstill, lights off, for over 20 minutes - when a voice came over the speaker system and announced that the show would not continue if people kept smoking marijuana (and cigarettes) in the arena. The announcer claimed it was "unsafe" for Britney and the performers to continue with the concert.
Almost 40 minutes later, Spears finally took to the stage again, much to the relief of the thousands in attendance. But, one concertgoer tells us, "She did not look into it at all!"
Maybe Britney was afraid the secondhand pot smoke would get on her hair and shit and would fuck up any random drugs testing she has to undergo to keep custody of her kids or to prove she's not on the drugs again????
Update: We have just obtained an exclusive statement from Spears' camp about the incident in Vancouver.
A rep tells us, "We want to apologize to all the fans who attended our Vancouver show tonight for the brief pause in Britney's set. Crew members above the stage became ill due to a ventilation issue."
Sources tell us it really was a safety issue. "We were concerned for the lighting guys and everyone else working on the show." If one of those guys up above got dizzy or sick from all that marijuana smoke….it wouldn't have been pretty.
Update #2: After the final encore, as Spears ran off the stage, Britney told the audience, "Thanks Vancouver. You were wonderful. Drive safe. Don't smoke weed!" Ha.

THANK YOU!!! I was there, really … It WASN'T the worse thing that could've happened! AND it wasn't her choice. I mean, HELLO, health and safety of others… no one died for it to hold for 30 minutes. She came back. I got to go pee… so whatever! Everyone's such snobs about it. When really, would you have liked to be the one who had something fall on you if the people above on her crew passed out??? NO! So suck it up!

Why don't we put some perspective into this argument. The real group raising hell about marijuana laws, is the Canadian Civil Liberties Association; lawyers, academics and human-rights activists. It is not a bunch of silly high school children. Nevertheless, many of you are only high school educated, so you take on the opinion that anyone defending pot must be an "antisocial a-hole who is trying to prove something" … that's interesting. You know, the belief is that anti-civil libs are usually the most straight-laced, better-than-thou, pluralists in the world … some of you posters are really proving that point right now (#56)
I don't believe Americans (shit, even some people from Toronto) understand the culture we have here in B.C. Everyone smokes pot. You walk through downtown Vancouver, and you will find police officers doing Consent Searches to passer-bys. They look through the passer-by's jean pockets, and if they find weed, they don't confiscate it … they give it right back. It literally isn't worth the paperwork. That speaks something about the culture here, the police don't care if you smoke weed.
I also love all the comments about pot smokers stealing things and jumping on stage … hahaha. No, those are the drunks.
Re: mountainsurfer – I don't think so. You go to a Britney show or a Spice Girls show, and it's mainly people in their twenties. She was big when I was 10 … her fans are older now.
Of course, you'll find the occasional younger person, but it's predominantly older people now.

First of all, it was a non smoking arena. Second of all, people need to leave their fuckin addictions to drugs and nicotine at home. And third of all, can anyone put on a show as extravegant as Britney Spears? I dont think so. So stop complaining about the lip-syncing. She puts on a damn good show and your entertained the whole fuckin time. Except if you're doin drugs of smokin cigs in people's faces.

at last someone (Vancouver's own Tammy Mcnabb according to who owns the refundfrombritney website - YOU GO GIRL!!!) has decided to take a stand against the TYRANNY OF BRITNEY THE SMOKER by setting up a class action suit and internet website so everyone who got RIPPED OFF can send in there complaint and hopefully she and everyone else will make A LOT OF MONEY that Dancing Karaoke Britney doesn't even deserve to have even if she didn't smoke
