A new vampire has been cast!
Actor Michael Sheen (The Queen and Frost/Nixon), is set to take on the role of Aro in New Moon.
He will join the entire Twilight cast, including Robert Pattinson, as well as new cast addition Dakota Fanning.
In New Moon, Sheen will play Aro, the leader of an Italian vampire clan called the Volturi.
Director Chris Weitz confirmed Sheen’s casting and said he had ‘aggressively’ pursued the actor.
“Michael├óΓé¼Γäós role is so important because he├óΓé¼Γäós the head of all vampires,” he said. “Aro is, on the surface, a very gracious and friendly vampire, but beneath that he is a tremendous threat.”
Sheen is also reportedly collecting a big paycheck for New Moon.
