The majority of marriages end in divorces, more people are opting to live together and raise kids, people laugh at the institution, you place bets on how long they'll last, yet people are clammering to make it a big deal. I see a lot of long term marriages in my community, as well as my own, which means we value marriage and put the work into it. I love the communities, like Hollywood where marriages are so disposable yet they clammer to make it a big deal when it comes to redefining it. It means nothing, the old "just a sheet of paper" then there up in arms about redefining it. I don't get it. And again, I voted to redefine it. Hmmm.

Miss California did not incite violence, damage or harm, so she is allowed to have voiced what ever her opinion is. You, on the other hand, have the same rights of free speech as she does. Too many people equate marriage with sex and procreation - BUT if you look at marriage as being with someone who loves you, cares for you, supports you, listens to you and helps you grow as a person then what is the problem?? I must admit, I have actually become more liberal since I came here. I have seen a side of the gay community I did not see before, with SOME people, not all. BatKiss for example, we had a long discussion in the Vermot post, and we became friends at the end. He brought up several good points about how I feel and how he feels. And we came to common understanding. In short we reworded how we feel. Still feel the same way, but are using different words.

Your initial comments were unprofessional and not appropriate for the position you were holding as a judge. Even though you are passionate about gay rights, it was extremely disheartening to hear those comments you made afterwards. I support gay rights. They do not in any way take away from my rights or the average citizen so there is no reason not to. However, I agree with the comments you made on the morning talkshows. She could have responded differently such as it should be decided by the voters of each state since this is a democratic society, etc. However, she had the right to respond in anyway she chose and I applaud her for sticking to her beliefs regardless of the platform (just as you do). It was not an answer that would win her the crown obviously. If you had initially responded in a more appropriate manner, your comments would have been appreciated and applauded as well.

Even if ALL 50 STATES legalized same sex unions, it still wouldn't be "recognized" by the Federal gov't until congress passes a bill, the Supreme Court puts its seal of constitutional approval on it and Obama signs it into law.
So, while you may get STATE benefits there won't be any FEDERAL benefits unless the aforementioned process happens.
Sexuality is ambiguous to begin with, so it's not really "equal rights," is it? It's "SPECIAL RIGHTS."
There's no ambiguity when it comes to race or ethnicity. That's something you can't change, but you CAN CHANGE who you have sex with and have as your partner, whether hetero or homo.

Condemning someone because they do not agree with you is FASCISM…what is really sick is that you would prefer that somes LIES instead of having them disagree with you—-when you ask someone a question, you are not always going to get an answer that you agree with…FOR NOW–this is still a free country, with free speech and the ability to express your OWN opinions without being burned at the stake!
