Is Twilight the new Harry Potter?
Turns out the hit flick and novels have outgrown the regular booths at convention sites.
In fact, Twilight will now have its own convention… TwiCon!!!
Seriously?!?!
According to reports, Texas will hold the largest US conference fully inspired by the Twilight series.
This summer, the Sheraton Dallas Hotel will host the 4 day convention (from July 30th-August 2nd), which will feature music inspired by the sexy vampires and even a Volturi Masque Ball.
Twilight mania is unstoppable!

no way can you compare Twilight to Harry Potter, HP is so well written and original, Twilight is for prepubescent teens and sounds like a ripoff of Vampire Diaries, Rob Patz looks hot on the movie poster but in real life looks like a grease ball stoner and that Kristen chick is a stuck up twat. I never quite understood the hype about this whole twilight craze.
I would love to trade incomes with Stephenie Meyer.

Twilight doesn't even compare to Harry Potter. The first 2 books were ok…the other ones were dumb. Movie sucked too! Harry Potter is definitely the best!

There are a few things that deserve fandoms. Take for instance Harry Potter, Star Trek, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Comics in general. This is not one of them. All of the above things at least have substance to them and have actual meaning in certain contexts but Twilight is like my dog's crap rolled in extraneous meat parts and smeared on a piece of paper. It doesn't deserve the fame that's come to it but since it has, we can only assume that the loyal followers barely use their brains. I think I'll let your brains rot as you immerse yourself in this and your newly found religion, "Cullenism". Spare me please.

No way you can compare Twilight with Potter. Have read all the Twilight books (well, almost - struggling through New Moon now) and the writing of Twilight is rubbish by comparison. Its a nice bit of escapism - but there is no doubting it is trash.

When Meyer was writing the books, its as though she took care to write them in such a way that the reader finds it easy to project themsevles into the story.
Though the writing itself is sort of amature, she leaves the characters open, just enough for you to slip yourself into them neatly, and live vicariously through them. Even if you dont want to. lol.
I still struggle with the fact that i actually enjoyed the saga. *sigh*
twilight is in no way shape or form the new harry potter!
the only reason everyone is going gaga over twilight is because of the movies and that's only because of Rpatz. it's not because the special effects are amazing, or because the dialogue is great, or because there are real actors in the movie.. it literally is because of Rpatz.
and Rpatz looks better as cedric than as edward.

It's funny how people criticize the books, and movie so much, but I really doubt that they have even read the whole series. If you hate the books that much then why bother to even comment on this article. You complain about the "crazy twilight fans", but yet you sit at your computers and make yourselves seem like the crazy ones. Harry Potter is waaayyyy better than Twilight. The Twilight thing is getting a bit ridiculous now, and there seems to be no escaping it. RPattz is amazing, but I kinda hope he doesn't go to 'TwiCon' cos I'm pretty sure he'll go deaf from the screaming.

Twilight will never be Harry Potter. One convention does not make it as popular; Harry Potter has lots and lots of conventions.
The only reason they're getting the films out so quickly is because they're terrified people will lose interest which is hopefully what'll happen soon.

OMG… firstly…
HP is NOTHING like twilight, harry potter is the best book series by far, yes i read every book of the saga in 2 weeks which is more than what i did with HP, but JK is a better writer than steph and u can just read one chapter of HP and feel happy about waiting to read the next… the suspense in HP is also alot better because JK writes it better…. TWILIGHT IS PREDICTABLE. i guessed everything that was going to happen…. i never could with HP and thats what made it the best!!
HOWEVER i will try to attend this convention… how do u get to go? tickets? etc???
