Words of Wisdom

nl.jpg

Nicole Lamarche, Miss California 2003 and now an ordained minister at Cotuit Federated Church in Cotuit, Mass, is speaking out.

She says:

"As a pastor and a former Miss California, I am often asked to interpret what the Word of God has to say on a particular subject. I am quite confident that God prefers that we human beings stick to speaking for ourselves. And yet there are occasions when God’s Word is used as a weapon, and I feel compelled to speak.

In the past few days, much has been made of the words of Miss California USA, Carrie Prejean. She stated that marriage is between a man and a woman. I write not in response to her opinion, but rather about her comments that followed: that the Bible condones her words. She said, 'It's not about being politically correct, it's about being biblically correct.' While this sentiment is shared by many who seek to condemn gay people and gay marriage, citing pieces of the Bible to further one’s own prejudice fails to meet the Bible on its own terms.

Most people seeking to condemn gay people point to the Book of Leviticus, where we read that men lying with men is an abomination. However, we rarely hear of other verses found in the book of Leviticus that are equally challenging. For example, Leviticus also tells us that eating shrimp and lobster is an abomination. And that a person should not wear material woven of two kinds of material—an impossible mandate for a pageant contestant!

In Paul’s letter to the community in Corinth we read, ‘For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church….’ And yet these words have not prevented Christian denominations from ordaining women, such as myself. Sadly, the Bible has been used to further prejudice throughout history. We have used it to permit ourselves to enslave people; to conquer and kill; and to denigrate the earth.

The truth is that it is difficult to know for sure the intentions of the biblical authors, but we do know something about God. Those of us who know God through Jesus of Nazareth know that he went to great lengths to express God’s love to people who were labeled as outcasts. He spent time with children, prostitutes, and lepers, all of whom were labeled as outside of the grasp of the Holy. As we continue to seek God’s vision for us as a nation grounded in a love for justice, I pray that we might move closer to the cause of grace.”

    AMEN…very well written

Re: perezito_is_an_asshole – Jesus never said ANYTHING about homosexuality. DO you own slaves as well dude? I mean its in the Bible.

  5. 105

Really people — How on earth can this person (or any one of you) say that Carrie Prejean CONDEMNS gay people? This is ABSURD. She did nothing of the sort. She made every effort to clarify that she was not trying to insult or condemn anyone, but that she was raised to believe that marriage is between a man and a woman and that was her belief. Saying she was CONDEMNING GAYS is taking it to a whole other level that SHE did not go to! This is where ignorant people, liberals, and gays who hate are responsible for their own misery. Shame on this 'PREACHER' ! She should know better than to falsely accuse someone. She is not qualified for her position apparently.

Re: Pieperoni – You do not place CIVIL RIGHTS issues under a VOTE! It will be overturned by the courts just like it was last time!

  7. 107

Pastor claims to be Christian, but she needs someone to teach her the bible. She obviously doesn't believe the Bible is inspired by God. God has a love for mankind because he created them, but that doesn't mean he loves all the ACTS of mankind. He has made plain in the Bible what that fate would be of those who did not follow his word. The biblical cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because they engaged in homosexuality and other wickedness. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 makes God's view of homosexuals pretty clear. Don't believe the bible, that's anyone's choice, but don't say it's not clear with regard to that subject. It is human nature to believe what is comfortable for us or what fits our lifestyle. But as a pastor she should know better. Jesus wasn't politically correct nor can Christians afford to be. She should know that the Law was a tutor to lead God's people to recognized the Christ when he appeared, and since he fulfilled the law through his life and death the written law they had then was no longer needed and passed away. During the 3 1/2 years Christ taught he preached about how a christian should lead his life to receive redemption. He taught forgiveness to those who followed the word of God. This isn't Gay bashing, but if you say you are a christian you should at least READ the book that Christianity is based on. If you don't believe in God, that's your choice.

  8. 108

Man & woman were made to compliment each other. If God wanted gay people he would have made just one sex.

  9. 109

I am personally not christian, and yet i say Amen to that. Amen.

  10. 110

Not to mention that some of the books in the bible are forgeries. But anyways, see Pervez? This is how you respond to someone you disagree with!

  11. 111

Leviticus also tells us that eating shrimp and lobster is an abomination.

    Re: UWishh

When you stone your children will you put it on youtube?

  14. 114

Jesus loved the lepers, the prostitutes, and the other outcasts of society during his time on Earth and still does. This is true. But, did He help continue them in a direction opposite of what his Word said? No, He continued to preach love while directing them in the Holy way. He loves everyone, no matter what their sin is. Every sin is equal in His eyes. But to imply that to love someone, you have to accept and condone everything they do, is ludicrous. Most parents love their children unconditionally, but it doesn't mean they agree with all their actions.

By Carrie stating her beliefs, she was not showing hate. She was saying what she believed. She was not purposely showing hate. Perez, on the other hand, your comments in retaliation seemed to have the intention of hate in them - the same thing you ridiculed her for.

As a side note, may I please note that several verses in the New Testament also speak of homosexuality as sexual immorality? But keep in mind, if you are constantly jealous and envious, you are also falling short. No one is perfect.

God is love, and His love is unconditional and never-ending.

    Re: Lezann

    I e-love you.

  17. 117

Very good response. My ex is gay and happily in a committed relationship with his partner. I am happily married to a man and I am a woman. To each his own.

  18. 118

I don't see how anyone could say "yawn" or "zzzzzzzzzzzzz", or worse yet, "barf" after reading what Ms. Lamarche wrote. Not unless they worship the devil, and belong to a satanic cult. I thought it was great - and I like her a lot better than I do Perez. So more power to the voices of reason!

  19. 119

*Those verses in Leviticus are widely accepted as being instructions for the Israelites. Christians are not held to those older standards. Case in point: in the Bible, God sent Peter (I think) animals to eat to stay alive. They included animals that had once been forbidden under the old Jewish law. Peter at first refused to eat them, but he was rebuked. Christians look to the story of Creation and the words of the Gospel as guidance for human sexuality. That verse is just a sound byte for angry people.
*Paul didn't mean women should shut up he was recommending a way to keep the focus on the message at church, not about who's speaking. He also said that men and women are equal in God's eyes.
*Just because Jesus hung out with "outcasts" does not mean he condoned their actions. He spoke to the woman at the well and convicted her on her actions. His love for her was there regardless, but just because you love someone does not mean you have to be OK with everything they do.

Very eloquent, but she, too, is guilty of twisting Scripture to suit her personal/political needs. While she may not be prejudiced, she is not representing the Scriptures very honestly.

    120

yep… very well said. thanks perez. god and religion should teach you to LOVE THY NEIGHBOR, not turn against people who don't follow some very vague phrases written in a 2000+ yr old book. people are so crazy sometimes. life is too short to be so uptight & judgemental towards others…

  21. 121

Re: Carrie Prejean for President! – Using your argument that 'god' created everything…why did he create gays?

  22. 122

    This gal says:
"The truth is that it is difficult to know for sure the intentions of the biblical authors…" wrong. The problem is most people don't want to open up their Bibles and study it. God commands us to study his word in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
Next, she excuses homosexual activity with her example from the OT. But, if you look at the NT, there is clear evidence that one is not to partake is homosexual acts. Romans 1:26-27:
"For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
"And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet."
So, I do not think it is "difficult" at all to understand God's word. One must open him/herself up to the truth, for it shall MAKE you free. John 8:32.

  23. 123

I think that many people aren't against gay marriage so much as they are against voting to support something that is going to give ammunition to agendas that want to take away other people's rights. For instance, if gay marriage is legalized (which I believe it should be), then will gays use that to try to force Christian ministers to marry them? That's just giving one group rights and taking them away from another. If gays want to marry, and Christians, Muslims or whatever other groups maintain theologies against gay marriage, then rather than forcing those groups to conform to another group's position, gays should work to create their own theologies. We all need to be able to maintain our rights, and doing so doesn't mean we are "anti-" anybody else with different views.

  24. 124

Also, there is a clear difference between homosexual feelings and homosexual acts. I think that if homosexuality was placed on a spectrum, from one to ten, everyone would fall somewhere on that spectrum. Maybe some people would be closer to 10 and others would fall in the 2 range. But regardless, clearly we are not to give into those feelings. The homosexual feeling is not the sin, the homesexual act is the sin. Unfortunately, today's mantra is, "if it feeeeeeels good, DO IT!!!!" and that's wrong.

This illustrates the difference between an indoctrinated fool who has never read a bible and a biblical scholar. Nicole seeks truth which makes her so much more credible.

  27. 127

    Re: AmbrosiaRose
"The biblical cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because they engaged in homosexuality and other wickedness." Wow, if that's true than I'm never going to church. I'm not going to worship someone who would be so cruel to destroy people because they "sinned." I worship him because I thought he was perfect and loved all of his children. ^That is not loving your children. And to the person saying, "if God wanted gay people he would have made the entire race gay" why is that true? Why can't he make straight and gay people? And one point I'd like to make, which is kind of out of left field but I want to get it out. Just because you're gay, doesn't mean you can't have kids. Surrogates and sperm donors, anyone? Another point I'd like to make is GOD NOR JESUS WROTE THE BIBLE HIMSELF. None of us can say for sure what God and Jesus want and intend for until we die and ask them ourselves. That is all and thank you for reading.

  28. 128

Re: Paigee – She said that in another interview. Gawd, you're a fucking dumbass. Make sure you research before you write any more shit.

  29. 129

This pastor is basically uneducated. A couple of points regarding her comments about the passage in Leviticus referring to eating shrimp and lobster being an abomination: We don't know why this is. But there may have been a reason of the time. For instance, there was a time historically where humans were not able to eat tomatoes without getting poisoned. Many people died from them. Over the years either the people or the tomatoes changed so that is no longer the case. It could have been something like that which prompted the case of the day that shrimp and lobster were not to be partaken of. However, this is still the case about shrimp and lobster: bottom-feeding fish and scavengers such as shrimp, lobster, catfish, etc. contain a powerful substance that breaks down proteins (which is why they can break down the garbage and unbelievable things they eat). When we eat them, that protein transfers to our bodies and also breaks down our proteins. Perhaps our bodies have become more resistant to this so it affects us less than the bodies of human ages ago. But I can tell you, shrimp and lobster do still have this affect on the human body, even today. Whether or not that is why the Bible states it as an abomination, I don't know, but we are all told in the Bible to look at our bodies as temples of God, and not to abuse or do something destructive to them.

actually, yeah, i do have to say perez… while i am a supporter of gay marriage and i really do not understand (I just find religion in general ridiculous, I am believer in being good to others and that's all all I think you need to focus on at the end of the day, and when people site all these rules people must follow, religion turns into a negative force in my eyes and i really hate it).. you are really coming down on her really hard. she expressed her belief. i don't agree with it, but you are really being quite spiteful towards her and its not flattering to you and your lack of respect towards others' opinions is

  32. 132

    this is awesome.

  33. 133

Perez, if you consider this WORDS OF WISDOM, you sure have LOW standards for what you call wisdom. But then, am I surprised at that? Why, of course I'm not.

  34. 134

    Wow! That was beautiful.
    Thank you Nicole.
You expressed many of my own beliefs.
    .
All are welcome at the table of God.

    Re: DanielDax

If she had said, "No, I don't think other states should follow Vermont's lead and legalize same sex marriage, " at least she would have been answering the question Perez asked. Hopefully, she could have followed that up with the why or why not that he asked for in the first place.

Yes, some people (myself included) would still have been disappointed in her answer, but at least she would not have come across as a complete idiot. My problem was how she said it - "opposite marriage," "my country," and especially "people can choose" - not what she said.

  36. 136

    Re: slapens – 20 Hugs!

  37. 137

That was beautifully written. If it encourages compassion, it's probably the correct path.

  38. 138

Re: rockthecroc – remember honey? God gave humans FREE WILL. Gays have made their own choice, in MOST cases. In the other cases, they probably made the choice on the other dimension before they came into the world, thereby creating the genetics for it. But it all comes out of our choices, on this dimension or another. Sorry to get metaphysical for those of you who don't like it, but sometimes it's just appropriate and necessary.

  39. 139

I actually find this entire subject completely irrelevant when there are so many more important things to worry about. Legal marriage is a piece of paper. I wish people would focus on things that truly matter….like the murdering of unborn children. I'm gonna' go out on a limb here and say I think that's a little more relevant to society.

  41. 141

From the Catholic Reporter re: Joseph Campbell
    .
Campbell, who died in 1987, believed that religious organizations have stressed too strongly the strictly historical aspect of the Bible so that we are, essentially, in worship of the historical event, instead of being able to read through that event to the spiritual message standing behind it. People frequently turn to Eastern religions because there they find the real message, which in Western religion has been closed by excessive literalism and historicism. When we read the Bible and transform our religious rituals into metaphor rather than factuality it is once more possible to mine the deeply spiritual riches available to us in our Christian tradition.

    1 Corinthians 6:9, 10

What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom

  45. 145

May times people will say that Jesus was amongst sinners like prostitutes, tax collectors, robbers and thieves. While he loved everyone, he hated the sin. Those that chose to follow him CHANGED their ways, whatever their sin was. Those that changed became his followers. Those that would rather keep doing the sin didnt follow him. When Jesus was was dying on the cross he had two theives on either side. The bad thief criticized Jesus. He couldnt see his wrong doing…self rightous I guess. The good thief saw who Jesus was. He asked to be remembered when he died. Jesus assured him that he would be in heaven when he died. The good thief realized his sinful ways and took his last chance and asked for forgiveness.
Its hard to get rid of any sinful way. The devil can make sin so inticing. The whole idea is to CHANGE the evil way. Problem is OUR perception of what evil is. We justify our actions by misreading the Bible and we change the meaning to justify the sin. Putting our own spin on what is right when it is wrong doesnt make it right. Read your Bible.

  46. 146

    In layman's terms…jeeeze…

God is a Loving father , like a truly Loving father he doesn't agree with everything we do…but because of Jesus and through Jesus he forgives.

I remember reading a book called Jesus Freaks that talked about people trying to follow the bible to the word and for a couple they came near death. The bible let's face it is not an accurate portrayal of how we should live our lives.

  54. 154

Good for her. Things like this should be heard more often. Inclusion, rather than exclusion should be taught and heard.

  55. 155

Preach it, girl! I couldn't agree more! I was always taught that God and Jesus love you whether you're black, white, straight or gay, and Miss California 2003 preached that exact point! Take that, conservative America!

  61. 161

it's so nauseating that some can't extend their compassion for minorities. the woman is an ordained minister, she obviously knows the bible and has put it in terms that all of us can understand. i'm catholic, straight and 16 years old, i've had to read the bible for the past 12 years through church religion classes and even though i'm not as serious with my faith as miss lamarche, i've gathered enough that we are all in god's image, we should love who we are and who our neighbor is. it may seem that my liberal-ness is showing, that i'm being naive, but denying a whole community their rights is not what our beautiful god, or whatever he/she/it is about. how many of you that don't agree with this pastor have taken time to listen to the other side? i've listened to conservative opinions and i don't agree with most of it, however i respect every single one of them. but where is the respect on the other side? things to think about… i only hope that should my children be gay that they live in a world where they will be accepted for being a good person and not for what their marital status is, including when they pass on and meet our compassionate God.

  62. 162

Re: UWishh – No you are going against the words of the many many many authors of the bible. What bugs me most about the bible is that sooo many people think it fell out of the sky and people started reading it. The bible is a collection of secondary sources composed (for christians) many years after the death of christ. The Roman empire didn't convert until the 4th century A.D. Christianity has come about like every other religion in ths world, through voices, interactions with the divine, prophets, priests, suppossed miracles. It actually isn't that unique of a religion. I agree with miss california that it has been used as a sword against so many people to back up prejudices' and in doing so we have lost its message. Believe in christ, love your neighbor, and do unto others as you would have them do unto you. LOVE!!

  65. 165

The Bible is the best seller, banned in China, Russia, and, at times, the public school system in the US. Why is the Bible so reviled and hated? According to the Bible, because "The entrance of thy words giveth light" (Psalm 119:130). Of course, there are those who fear the light and run from the light.
There are also 5,000+ songs written about one being, Jesus Christ. Why is it that all false prophets claim to be Jesus?

  66. 166

The bible also states that a women's hair is her crown and glory, it's an abomination to cut it, which im sure the present miss california has.

  67. 167

    Re: Lady Irvine
Please do yourself a favor and quit acting like you have a time machine.

  68. 168

You've stepped in it now Mario.

Perez Hilton also appeared on NBC's "Today," explaining that he demands a Miss USA winner be "politically savvy" and that even though Prejean is a Christian, he doesn't want her "talking about Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, because that's offensive."
A legal analyst told Fox and CNN News Prejean may have grounds for a discrimination lawsuit.
"It's her religious beliefs which prompted her to say 'I don't believe in same-sex marriages,'" analyst Mercedes Colwin said. "So she was espousing her beliefs," and has reason to sue for violation of Title VII, which prohibits discrimination based on religion.

SO, you don't want anyone to be able to have an opinion other than your own, and Now you don't want people to expouse their beliefs. What have you got against freedom of speech, freedom of religion or better yet, what is your problem with FREEDOM in general? I hope she sues you to oblivion, you Fucking BIGOT.

  69. 169

LOVE IT and I love the GAYS

  70. 170

The Bible is also a book of science. There are many scientific and medical laws written in the book, before the great scientist "discovered" them. That's because God is the ultimate scientist, the great physician. He made our bodies. For example, God commands that all boys be circumsized at eight days old…not any younger, because the baby's blood coagulates better, as opposed to right after birth. God knows this because He made our bodies.
Genesis 17:12 "For the generations to come every male among you who is eight days old must be circumcised…"

  71. 171

It's always difficult to have a real discussion, or a civil disagreement, when the Bible is involved. The Bible is a book full of symbolism, contradiction, and leaves lots of doors open for personal interpretation.
I generally find that true Bible believers are not at all open to calm conversation or possible alternative discussions.
So, I say kudos to this woman for being an open-minded church leader.

  72. 172

Re: perezfat – Using your matter of deduction we could infer that in those days there wasn't proper education on sex, especially anal intercourse which could have been fatal to some, spread infections etc. It could have also been there to attack the greeks and romans and their pedophilia practises on young boys, which was seen as necessary for them to become men.

  73. 173

"For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due."
    —Romans 1:26-27 (NKJV)

"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God."
    —1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (NKJV)

"Knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine,"

Here's where I always get confused. If God is the ultimate Scientist and Physician (as you say) then why does he allow such intense suffering such as child abuse, brain cancer, Alzheimer's disease, starvation, genocide, mental illness, senior citizen long-term suffering, etc etc.????

  77. 177

    THAT. WAS. EXCELLENT.

  78. 178

As an aspiring woman pastor myself, I 100% agree. It greatly bothers me when people take a few words out of the Bible to prove their own prejudices when the bigger picture truly is grace and love. Hopefully more people will realize this soon…

    Re: Lezann
Well, I've sat in job interviews where I said things that I wanted to say, but the responses came out of my mouth rather awkwardly. I'm sure that was happening onstage with her as well; that doesn't make her dumb. I really don't have a problem with her answer, even though I don't agree with it. I personally think she answered the question too quickly, realized she was backing herself into a corner, and then ended up overcorrecting herself.

And this girl is a supposed pastor???? God prefers us to speak for ourselves??? Has this "pastor" even read the Bible? She is obviously not speaking for herself here or any Sunday when she preaches! God wants us to preach his word not keep it to ourselves! READ THE BIBLE LADY!

  81. 181

Well put, especially the part about how people "use" the bible in a totally self-serving way, as if there's any "one" version of what it "says" — that's a laugh, and she gave some very pertinent examples illustrating that FACT.

  82. 182

DID SHE GET HER MINISTERS LICENSE ONLINE. I'M READING GENESIS AND MOST OF THE STUFF IN THAT BOOK IS R RATED. SEX WITH COUSINS, MARRYING COUSINS, SISTERS, KILLING, LYING, DRUNKENNESS, ETC. MAKES FOR A COMPELLING NOVEL. I DON'T TRUST A MINISTER WHO DID NOT GO TO SEMINARY COLLEGE. DID SHE??

  83. 183

"Most people seeking to condemn gay people point to the Book of Leviticus, where we read that men lying with men is an abomination. However, we rarely hear of other verses found in the book of Leviticus that are equally challenging. For example, Leviticus also tells us that eating shrimp and lobster is an abomination. And that a person should not wear material woven of two kinds of material—an impossible mandate for a pageant contestant!

In Paul’s letter to the community in Corinth we read, ‘For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church….’ And yet these words have not prevented Christian denominations from ordaining women, such as myself."

If she believes the Bible and preaches it then why is she basically claiming the words of God to be ridiculous??? How can she believe some parts of the Bible and not others??? Who is she to pick and choose what is correct and what is wrong!?!?!?!?

  84. 184

    Hooray.

  85. 185

OH THE PASSAGE SHE DESCRIBES OF WOMEN NOT SPEAKING IN CHURCH, THAT WAS A TIME WHEN WOMEN WERE TREATED AS A OBJECT BY SOCIETY AND TOLD NOT TO TALK BY THE MEN IN THE CHURCH AND TO ASK QUESTIONS WHEN THEY GOT HOME. IT'S OLD FASHION

  86. 186

Perez! You did it! You found an educated Christian! Finally, someone who actually understands that you can't cherry pick your Biblical passages to justify your ignorance and bigotry! Kudos to Pastor LaMarche… someone who understood the teachings of Jesus Christ and how to apply them to THIS ERA! She is a great role model! HUGs, BJ

  87. 187

    she sucks!

  88. 188

"… God says that marriage is…" If we stuck to everything that was ever written down in a book… oh lord help us all…

  89. 189

I am sooooo tired of hearing about this Perez. Stop it!!

Myth: Most people seeking to condemn gay people point to the Book of Leviticus.
Fact: Old Testament as well as New Testament condemns sodomy and same sex relations.

Corinthians 6:9-10, "Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals….

Rom. 1:26-28, "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

Unlike other sins, this sexual sin has a judgment administered by God Himself: He gives them over to their passions (Rom. 1:26-28). This means that their hearts are allowed to be hardened by their sins

Leviticus also tells us that eating shrimp and lobster is an abomination. This is true, back in the day, shell fish killed people because they had no purification process, hence, stay away from the shell fish.

  91. 191

As far as it being shameful for woman speaking in a church - GOD just designed roles. Woman have babies and Man fight wars. In fact, the bible says GOD is no RESPECTOR of Persons (1 Peter). Secondly, Jesus Christ forgave the femals adulterer who was about to get stoned.

Yes, that's true Jesus spent time with tax collectors, children, prostitutes, and lepers, drunkards, thieves, murderers, etc all of whom were labeled as outside of the grasp of the Holy. Why did he spend time with them?

As Jesus said "I didn't come to save the healthy, I came to save the sick. A healthy person doesn't need to see the doctor.

  92. 192

i'm atheist, but for the first time in my life i read something from a pure of heart Christian. Groundbreaking!

  93. 193

SCIENTIFICALLY, the fact that a woman and a woman, or a man and a man, CANNOT have a baby - isn't that nature's way of telling us that same sex relationships should not be happening?

  94. 194

Wow! Great post! She is SO well sponken. I am going to forward this post on to everyone I know. This is truly inspirational, Perez!

  95. 195

AMAZING!! Couldn't have said it better myself!

  96. 196

    She is so eloquent!

  97. 197

    THANKYOU

  98. 198

what an awesome lady. a beauty queen with a functioning brain, who knew?

  99. 199

Wow someone speaks the truth. She is very wise. People do throw the book at people when they are discriminating. When it comes to love not only do they throw the Bible at them when it comes to Gays but also to try to keep people from marrying someone of a different race. which you will not fine that anywhere in the bible. I am a christian but I do not throw the Bible at people if I diagree with something. We are suppose to think for ourselves thats why God gave us free will. So I love the way this woman thinks, she is Brilliant!!

  100. 200

This girl is an insult to all Christians….
