Are Coldplay Big Fakers???

Stevens, who now goes by Yusuf Islam, thinks Chris Martin & Co.'s Viva La Vida was heavily 'inspired' by his 1973 song, Foreigner Suite.
"If you listen to it, it's mine! It's the Foreigner Suite it is!" claimed Stevens about the popular Coldplay song.
Although Cat isn't seeking any sort of monetary compensation, he wants the credit (he thinks) he deserves!

Hmm there is a very very distinct similarity, my initial reaction was they are nothing like each other though.
This is actually the 4th time someone has accused them and the Flaming Lips actually share royalties for one of Coldplays songs because it was obvious they ripped off the tune. Coldplay is unoriginal and all their songs same exactly the same. They sucks ASS! And it your going to just find stories off a E Entertainment site, then at least tell the whole story! coldplay have being doing the same, repetitive thing since they began because they're incapable of finding a new sound and being original so it wouldn't suprise me if they did have to plagerise..

Hmmm. I'm going to have to differ with quite a few of the comments. I think this is very similar. It sounds like he ripped off the melody and added his own embellishment and lyrics. Hard to say if that's actually stealing, though. It's a lot like a writer stealing some phrases he likes from some obscure poems and then making his own poem around them.
But, yeah, I think Chris Martin heard this song, liked the melody, figured nobody would have heard it, and then made it his own.
