As we mentioned last month, the tell-all book about NY Yankess star Alex Rodriguez, A-Rod: The Many Lives of Alex Rodriguez, written by Sports Illustrated columnist Selena Roberts, hit the stands on Monday.
And it had promised to be good, including juicy details about A-Roid taking steroids all the way back in high school.
However, it seems the expectations were a bit too high.
According to reports, corporate reps for Barnes & Nobles and Borders are not revealing sales figures yet, though many people are stating the sales are nowhere close to what was expected.
Even one security guard at Borders in New York revealed that the sales were “A little slow, to be honest.”
As for Amazon.com, it recorded the book as the 61st highest seller of the day. Though a former editor-in-chief of Publishers Weekly said “You want a book like this to be in the top 10 or 25 or so. Sixty is good but not surprising and not extraordinary.”
Guess no one cares that much about A-Roid!
