In this week's People Magazine, Kirstie Alley talks about how she most recently went from thin to thickness.
She had trimmed down to about 145 pounds while being the spokeswoman for Jenny Craig. But then she left the program and gained all the weight back - and more!
Now she weighs close to 228.
That's 83 pounds!
After leaving her Jenny Craig regiment, the former Cheers cast member started to indulge in all the things she was never allowed to have. " My food demons are Chinese food, sugar, butter. A lot of butter."
Yes, we can see that.
Since eating a small child gaining back her weight, Kirstie told People she feels "inhibited" and admits she won't even leave the house. But she does plan to change her ways yet again and return to her previous weight.
"I’m ready to work. I messed up along the way, but I’m not going to concentrate on that."
Maybe you should. The epic failure might keep you motivated.
Perez I usually enjoy reading you. I admit I go to your website almost everyday to see what you have on there. I find this posting very offensive. You of all people should not be so insulting. You were also once a bigger person. What now that you have lost a little bit of weight you think it is ok to do to others what people used to do to you. I really hope you will put up an apology since that heading is cruel.

228 for a woman that is about 5'8 tall.. doesn't sound that bad to me, actually. I mean, it's overweight, but she's not like in a freakin wheelchair. To tell you the truth, Jenny Craig food is disgusting, I've tried it when my friend was on it, and it was like eating cardboard.

Does anyone in America really care about her on again, off again diet habits? She's a publicitywhore and not the first one on the planet to lose and gain…but do we have to see her very public appeals and then, a new show to address the issue?
First of all, considering her height, I have a hard time believing she is really 228, or that she was really only 200 pounds before she went on Jenny Craig. Those numbers seem awfully low. I am at least 5 inches shorter than her and still looked alot smaller though I weighed about the same before I lost weight.
Also, it is a shame that Perez is being so critical of her over this matter. He knows the struggles of weight loss. If he's picking on her because she's gone to the media outlets to talk about her weight again, fine (I guess). But, if I'm not mistaken Perez, Pot, meet Kettle.

First off she could help herself by stop telling lies ! There is no fuckin way that she was down to 145 ! My sister is 130lbs and her waist is nice and trim, and there is no way she would look like KA with an extra 15lbs! Unless she changes the she lives the weight is here to stay or play yo-yo.
Perhaps the first step Kirstie should take to lose the weight is accept her actual weight… because there is NO WAY IN HELL that woman weighs just 228lbs. She is not a short woman. She weighs AT LEAST 240lbs. Get real Kirstie, then maybe you would be able to get the place you want to be.

I am no skinny Minnie myself, but I say it is partly everyone's fault. Kirstie is an easy target because she wants to be skinny to please others. I have lost 23 lbs. but do not want to be "skinny" I want to be healthy for myself and my children. I say shame on you Perez for being so mean especially as you are no thin, thinnity, thin person yourself, but Kirstie in the same respect needs to be confident and say screw all you assholes, then she would not be an open target.

Maintaining a healthy weight is a lifelong struggle. I'm glad that Kirstie is willing to pick herself up, dust herself off, and try again. Nobody loses weight and keeps it off magically. Rather than calling her a failure, I cut her and all of us some slack for being human and returning to old eating habits because she felt deprived.
She has exactly the right idea. Instead of being hung up on the weight gain, to keep moving forward and keep trying.

My mother and my aunt passed away in the last year, both from doing very unhealthy things to desperatly try to lose weight. both had unsafe gastric bypass surgeries, and i had to watch both of them waste away before my eyes. If I could change anything it would be letting them know that no matter what size they are i love them and is being thin worth dying for? Sadly it was for them.
