Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen really wants to be a singer (just like Leighton Meester)!

The tempestuous teen is in a band called "Pretty Reckless" and they played one of their first ever shows - if not the first ever show - Tuesday night in NYC.

Watch Momsen channel her inner Courtney Love above!

I actually REALLY like this stuff, I left it on while I was browsing other sites. Her voice is fun, highly stylized. I usually loathe female voices in punk bands, they give punk rock too much of a "pop" feel, the avril lavigne effect. But her voice is great, reminds me of old-school No Doubt/LunaChicks/Jello Miafra/Joan Jett.

I dont like it but its not because they suck or anything of the sort, its just you would like that kind of music. Definantly not what I thought it would be. She was alot better than I thought she would be. I agree with a couple of the other comments though, she is growing up to fast. If i dressed or wore my makeup like her at the age of 15, my mom would put an end to it and fast.

I think it was awesome, except…she sounds like a 35 year old chain smoker. How does that sick cat sound (and I mean that in the best way) come from a child?!?! Whatever, if we've learned anything, it's that Hollywood starlets are aging much faster than they should be, and Taylor is a prime example. And, honestly, I'd rather see this than Hannah Fucking Montana.

It actually reminds me a bit of The Distillers Coral Fang album and just a little bit Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Not as good as those but for a new band with a YOUNG lead singer, I like it. Does worry me a lil that she's so young. But it's better for her to be making music than doing coke in the clubs like LiLoser.

Wow! That was very surprising! I expected her to suck, but the band was really good and their songs were catchy.

Yes, she is trying really hard to achieve the 80s Madonna look, but her vibe is good. She definitely appeals to the hipster crowd and their type of rock music. Her and her band definitely have a shot at being big!
