Yes, she completely lipsynched the entire performance!
It's kinda sad that she's judging a singing competition where the contestants have to sing live each week, yet she herself can't sing live on the same show.
Having said that, Paula was fucking amazing last night! AMAZING!
We didn't think she had it in her!
This could have easily been a performance she gave back in her heyday - 20 years ago.
We can forgive the lipsynching because she danced her ass off! Her backup birls twirled her, hurled her and spun her upside down.
It was fucking awesome!
Major props to Abdul. We give her lots of credit.

WTF is the big deal with her lipsyncing? Since the 80s and 90s Paula has pretty much always lipsynced during intricate dance performances. Even the Idol contestants use a pre-recorded track during group performances. Hell I am less than half her age and don't think I could move like that.
That's how I feel, I'm just there for the music, don't try to hit on me….
anyway, smoke is really annoying. Dancing and singing in smoke and mist is terrible. Keep it clean, keep the air pure.
as for lip synching, Paula is not a singer. She never was. Like Janet Jackson, without a lot of production and echoing, she's hopeless. She was a choreographer and dancer and cheerleader/pep club girl. Still is, but lots older. We all are.

Well, Paula is like an older version of Britney: she's a dancer first and foremost, not a singer. That said, good for her, she seems to enjoy performing, unlike Britney.
I don't like the song, but thought her performance was amazing.

I am not going to bash Paula in any way, but i am VERY disappointed that she would take a song ORIGINALLY sung by Kylie minogue and push it off as her own. (youtube "i'm just here for the music" kylie minogue) the song was done duing Kylie's BODY LANGUAGE recording sessions. here is to hoping that Paula will not become the next Jennifer Lopez (taking other performers' songs/samples)

how was this "fucking awesome" and No Doubt sucks?!????? that makes NO sense. I can't even tell which voice was SUPPOSED to be Paula's, it's just an over processed dance number. Kudos cuz of her age, but really. At least Gwen sings, dances, runs around the stage, actually writes, and kicks ass with her original band!!!

her dancing was pretty good, reminded me of a Britney Spears performance.. but there was never really a clear image of her face, so who knows if it was even her lol.. the ending was really cheesey.. and why would she lip sync when its a show about singing talent and she's a judge.. doesn't make sense…
PS. Why does she go up to a mike when she has one strapped to her stupid head?
Oh, and I thought she was a long sufferer of back and neck pain. So what was with her dancers lifting her, dropping and all that head twirling?

It could have been Britney… that wasn't even singing, it's Minnie Mouse. The dancing was ok. At least she looked nice. But I'm tired of this trend, "strike a pose", no singing, nothing live… at least No Doubt was live!

if gwen stephanie can't sing and dance at the same time— without even having intricate choreography— of course paula can't do it at her age. her voice was so synthesized though, she could've panted into the mic and nobody would've known the difference. and, who cares, paula rocks lip synching or not… she's so cute like a little doll with all of her frilly outfits and coifs and jewelry and makeup… she's just like the little old lady that you want to hug and kiss for being so cute.

Paula isn't doing anything false— it has been published everywhere that she took a Kylie song that Kylie chose not to record (or something like that). Just like Idols, it's about making the song your own— and, in Paula's mind, she did that. If it has similarities to Kylie's style, well, I can't really comment about that— and I don't think you're bashing Paula, but I think in her heart and mind she took Kylie's song and 'made it her own' with her choreography (which is Paula's thing afterall- not her singing). And, I think she has been very up front about the source of the song… to her, putting her fancy choreography to the song is what she thinks makes it new and different, b/c that is her art.

Ummm…that sucked. That wasn't dancing, it was a series of poses. And why, if she has that headset mike (which was obviously not a working mike), did she need that floor mike as well(which also was not on)? In light of the fact that she was lipsynching, it makes it doubly retarded.
She really needs to just stop making records. When your voice is that altered, it's time to pack it in. I think her gigantic ego wants her to have another hit song and it won't let her brain talk any sense.

That song is a hot mess. Paula can absolutely dance, but singing? Not so much. It was painful. HORRIBLE song.

her performance was very good, however, she should have sang live like everyone else. another thing that kind of gets under my skin, woman need to stop trying to act younger than they are. Paula can still be sexy, just in an age appropriate way, like more glamour instead of parading around in a "costume". maybe like a Maralyn Monroe type of look in "Diamonds are a girls best friend"?

Considering that most people replying to this won't be able to move like Paula in their late forties….I think Abdul deserves more props than she is receiving. Spears cannot carry a tune either, yet people fork out hundreds to see her shuffle around surrounded by back up dancers that Paula Abdul could better keep up with at 20 years Spears' senior.
Regardless…it was weird to see such a performance on a singing competition. But I guess the show did have Jamie Fox's ridiculously distorted vocals…which he didn't even offset with a fun performance like Abdul.
Isn't she TOO OLD for this kind of stuff? She's old enough to my Mom's age, have some class and get with the program your age. Leave this up to Britney Spears and Katy Perry.
