Your performance was beyond pathetic. The old Britney Spears, who was at one point (a long time ago) truly great, would be embarrassed by your lack of professionalism and utterly shiteous appearance at the VMAs.
Where was Criss Angel? Where was the magic? And by 'magic' we don't mean any tricks or illusions.
You seemed dead onstage. You have lost that spark and shine that used to ooze out of you!

Britney threatened to ditch her VMA performance just minutes before she took the stage. Want to know why? Britney overheard Sarah Silverman rehearsing her monologue in which she calls Britney's babies mistakes and takes jab after jab at Britney.
Britney made it very clear with MTV that Sarah was NOT allowed to talk about her kids, and MTV agreed. That big-mouthed bitch said it anyway.
Sam Lufti (VMA producer) was overheard backstage screaming at Sarah Silverman because of her outrageous remarks saying: "Sarah Silverman is a seriously unprofessional person to make fun of infants to get a laugh."

she has never had much talent, but looked hot and had a few great songs (slave, toxic) and was very well marketed. I didn't like the way the VMA's were going at first but then I thought it was awesome how everyone was performing together and partying. Britney was a super huge disappointment, although I wished the best for her, I wasn't surprised.

She was terrible. But you can't still help but feel sorry for her - she looked so scared and self-conscious. But still, MTV's teaser commercials were far better than her lack-luster performance.
I have never been a fan of Britney's hypersexual kiddie porn persona. I think her over sexual image is not "liberating" but something that teaches girls that being sexy and sexual makes you valuable, not the person inside.
Putting all that tto the side, I think Britney is a talented singer (yes, singer) and dancer. I have seen sparks of true beauty and art in her music. The problem is every one expects her to return to her former glory as a sexxed up pop star. The public should drop that and Britney should drop that and begin her journey as a true musical artist. She should make songs about her journey thru life, love, and loss. She can do that. I hope she has the courage to drop and even to some extent, renounce elements of her former carreer, esp. parts that have contributed to the degradation of our culture. I hope the best for Britney. Our hearts break for her. She really can turn all of this into something good though.

if you look back at past britney vma performances (which you can see on youtube) you can see how into it she was, she loved what she was doing and you could tell. her spark is gone 100% she looked out of it and her dance moves were saying to the world that she did not want to be there, it was the most half assed performance i have ever seen. britney spears is officially done and i think its whats best for her because she doesnt give a shit anymore. and she used to be an amazing dancer what the fuck happened??
