It's interesting how she says she is standing up for her rights, but yet she uses her religion and celebrity to spawn hate towards a community.
It's easy for a straight people to use "religion" as an excuse to put down a large part of the population whom are their neighbors, teachers, doctors, entertainers etc. Ofcourse, in this select group of people's eyes the gay community should not excercise their legal rights to marry…a right they would be granted by birth had they been born straight. (and spare me the "you aren't born this way" shit..if you haven't seen the world through a gay persons eyes you have no idea what you are talking about).
I believed that church and state were two separate entities. It seems not so much when religious beliefs are the ones leading justice.

i don't like how she namedropped the president to back up her case. there's supposed to be separation of church and state in this country, yet marriage is being defined by christian doctrine. marriage should be defined by a purely humanist level: equal rights for all. i don't understand how the marriage of a gay couple affects a heterosexual couple. gays just want the same rights for their loved ones as afforded to their heterosexual counterparts. are these religious bigots afraid gay marriage will promote homosexuality? because it won't, you're born that way, and i think gay marriage would only promote acceptance, peace, and love to show that no one is less than anyone else. miss california is a hypocrite and while she does have a right to freedom of speech, using her pageant platform to promote her homophobic ideals disgusts me on every level. if she wants to be the spokesperson for that anti-human committee for 'opposite marriage' than she should resign and not speak for the state of california as miss california.

As a Christian, I am disgusted by her actions and lies. I thank Perez for pointing her out, because she says she is representing our faith, and yet her actions speak differently.
