Can you imagine what the outrage would have been if a judge with a conservative slant asked the same question, the contestant came out in favor of gay marriage, and the judge gave her low scores because of her answer? The judge would have been burned at the stake, and Perez would be the first in line to douse the flames with gasoline!
Consider yourself lucky there is such a massive double standard in this country Perez.

Donald Trump needs to start thinking with his big brain, not his little brain. When did it become good business practice to breach a contract in America? He just demonstrated why people can't take pageants seriously. I'm an ex-beauty queen and Carrie did not answer that question well at all. She was a blubbering idiot and thank God she didn't win. I do believe that every American should have a voice and be able to state their opinions about different issues. However, some opinions hurt other people and our country is founded on the principle of freedom for all… not rights for most. Marriage is a concept society and for Miss California to insinuate that gay people would take away that union… it would only add to it. Why should some people get benefits and not others? I believe all Americans should receive the same things from our government such as social security straight, gay, single, or otherwise. Our country is moving forward slowly but it is important to look at all the people before that have fought for our rights. And for Miss California you might want to read up on the feminism movement because by using your power that you have now (that others fought for) to to bring down others is no good for your state or our country.
Perez made it almost impossible for Trump to fire Prejean because of his obvious vendetta against her. Trump doesn't want to appear to bow to the Gay Mafia.

I agree that Perez Hilton showed poor taste in his choice of words when he lambasted Miss California with his choice of words, but she also demonstrated poor choice of words with her answer. A beauty queen needs to be diplomatic and intelligent when she speaks and Miss California did not have these qualities. She should have been better prepared considering this issue is real important to Americans and she was not. Her answer was all wrong, from "In my country", news alert America does not just belong to you and that ridiculous term "opposite marriage". Her answer should have been that though she believes that marriage is between a man and a woman based on her upbringing in the church, but that all humans should be allowed to have a civil union with whomever they love and receive the same benefits as same-sex couples, would have been a much better answer. although based on the Donald she wouldn't have won anyways. I also find it ironic that she gets plastic surgery and poses topless at 17, but she is a moral compass for the christian world…pure hypocrisy. The bible states that it is against God's law to pierce your body or alter it in any way, but I don't see her quoting God on that.
