Management, which opened in 212 theatres this weekend, TANKED with a PATHETIC $1,783 per screen average, for a $378,000 opening! \
Angels & Demons had a $13,600 per screen average, Star Trek had an $11,140 per screen average and even the 3 week old Wolverine had DOUBLE the per screen average.
To be fair, the nerd-factor movies will always do better than any other movie release and she was up against three. But even still, Jen, you have got to start picking movies that people actually would want to see you in. Or else you might as well give Angelina your career too, since she took everything else.

I don't go see her movies, because I don't find her work interesting. I mean, she's very pretty and all that. I like the highlights in her hair…….blah blah. But as a screen figure I find her incredibly bland. I'm not a hater, but witout the ex husband drama would she still be around ? Maybe time to take a risk and do something really interesting.

This is not some high budget romantic comedy chick flick. This is an INDEPENDENT FILM, hence the lack of promotion, box office cash, etc. This movie was never expected to do well with money, its more of an "artistic peice". Its gotten amazing reviews, some its Jennifer Aniston's Best work. Its also 90% on rotten tomatoes. This is a huge success for Jennifer.

I love Angelina! I love her movies, I love her beauty, I love her personality, & to pick. I also don't mind Aniston, I mean I watch movies for the plot/storyline and NOT for the actors/actresses in it, except for AJ, I obviously watch anything she's in. So I have nothing against JA -ha I just noticed their initials are reversed! Anyways, JA is know for Friends & always will be known & compared to her Rachel role, therefore she will always be a sitcom actresse and AJ wasn't so therefore you cannot compare the two. No matter how many movies JA does she just will never compare to AJ, that's just a fact. I really just hope she settles down soon and find a man. She says in her interviews that she so lucky in love & happy, yet she keeps bringing up AJ/BP, I mean that just looks bad, she can't play the role of poor ex-wife forever. Get over it - everyone else did. Also, if her & Brad were truly happy then they would still be married. I believe that if you are truly happy in a marriage then one would NEVER stray.

That being said, Jennifer Aniston is by no means to be underestimated. My favorite two examples are her performances in Derailed and Friends With Money. She proved that she could be an Oscar caliber actress, and i think that with those kinds of performances she is not far from winning one. Personally, i think she makes a mistake in the roles she chooses. I personally find that the more and more she diversifies her roles, the more we can see her true acting chops. ANISTON FTW, and btw you can suck it Perez.

Our "Movie Group" (4 couples) saw Management on Sunday and unanimously liked it giving it an average of 8.2 out of 10. We see movies together once a month, and for this purpose concentrate on indies, foreign films or general release movies of some complexity then have dinner and a discussion afterwards. It's fun and informative. As these things go we're fairly knowledgeable about films and film making. One of us is a voting member of the Academy (writing). Anyway, we often disagree but on this one everyone was positive.
So, in our opinion, this is a pretty good film, well acted and many-layered. I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand.
As an aside, I'm not sure why the Angelina Jolie mention slipped into Perez Hilton's post but out of curiosity and since he brought her up, I went to Box Office Mojo and looked up the stats for A Mighty Heart (another indie we saw as a group) and which received a ton of press leading up to its release including premiering at Cannes, I believe, and learned that it averaged $971 on its opening weekend and went steadily downhill after that and I don't think her career has suffered too much from it.

Aniston famously didn't talk about it for more than a year - when she did and said it hurt - Jolie went on a playground bully and tried to jab a knife farther saying "we fell in love when…"

I saw it and I liked it. I think it wasn't marketed well. I hadn't even heard of it until I saw it on Moviephone, but I thought it sounded interesting. But it strikes me as a limited release, indie movie more than a blockbuster-type film, so I wouldn't call that a bomb. And it only opened in 212 theatres! It's not like it opened in every theatre!

Bone Collector was good and one of my favs. Girl Interrupted was too over the top for anyone who knows someone with those conditions. However, her home life - what a wreck, broke up two marriages, married 3 times, would a 3rd but Pitt refuses, adopting kids illegally, not taking care of anything in America, spouting how she would never have her own so that she could take care of the "worlds" kids, then has some of her own anyways. She could be educating AMERICANS prompting more help than someone sitting in on a meeting but eh, it's all about the press right?
