Actually, I think it was used in one of the shows Adam was in waaaay before Idol. So maybe Gaga saw his show and ripped it off from that? She didn't start the trend, though. I love Gaga but she's all influence. Nothing new, just a big (but well-done) blending of lots of what's already been done.
