Publicly closeted homosexual, Adam Lambert, and Queen???
After Lambert's performance with the rock legends on the American Idol finale last week, Queen guitarist Brian May told Rolling Stone magazine that the band is toying around with the idea of Glambert becoming Queen's permanent frontman!
Wow!
Says May: "…[Drummer Roger Taylor] and I are definitely hoping to have a meaningful conversation with [Lambert] at some point. It's not like we, as Queen, would rush into coalescing with another singer just like that. It isn't that easy. But I'd certainly like to work with Adam. That is one amazing instrument he has there."
It just goes to show that losing American Idol can be more beneficial than winning in the long run!

I really don't like Adam, I'm sorry! I just don't. He's a amazing singer, but I cannot handle the facial expressions and screaming. I just think he will probably made it to Broadway…or something!!

I was not an Adam supporter, thought he was too over the top (and I'm a gay rights activist b4 ppl start going there) and not the right voice for Idol but YES YES YES (and I was AGAINST Paul Rodgers for the record). It would be incredible!

I am tired of all the speculation about Adam's sexuality. IT is none of anyone's business and he certainly doesn't have to justify anything. What should be noted is that he seems to be a very nice gentleman. He is polite, he seems to be sure of himself, and come on, he defines himself as "different". And he is. I have heard few singers that are able to sing like he does. He does his own thing. During the show, I do believe he tried very hard to give a good performance each and every time, without compromising his own style to appeal to the masses. I am just so pleased that he doesn't have the same boring sound that nearly everyone has. He has a talent that sets him apart. And shame on you perez for calling him "publicly closeted" that is a mean thing to say and i doubt if he would make nasty comments about you like that.
Yes I would love it so long as he didn't feel he had to be a cover for Freddy Mercury's stuff. He should only do it if they can collaborate on new songs - then at a concert he could sing all the classics but show that he's genuinely their lead singer in his own right and respected as Adam Lambert - not someone who sounds like Freddy. I'm pretty sure that would be his proviso as well so I'm not worried. He's got a good head on his shoulders!
He sounded like Freddie to me from the beginning…and he's gay and dynamic like Freddie….so, sure - some work with Queen would make total sense, I'd love it. Not as the only thing he does, but one of them. He's perfect!!!!
Leave Queen alone, it was Freddie Mercury's baby. And that's the way it should stay, not remembered/tainted by some guy from AI. He needs to find his own calling in the music world.
As long as Adam has that classically trained operatic tenor voice, then he can cut it as Queen's lead singer.

I think he has a limited OTT fanbase. He's not mainsteam at all and Kris is more likely to have success on the radio. America made the right choice by over a million votes. Not close at all.

I think he is Elvis re-incarnated for our era … same loving personality, same showman, same unique style, same terrific voice. Since many of you weren't born when Elvis made it big in the 50's … I was, can tell you it is the same charisma and same special qualities Adam has, as Elvis did. Doubting Thomas's will fade away.

Re: MaggyMay – Maggie May - No it doesn't. It doesn't at all. No one will ever be able to replace Freddie. No one claims, that Adam would be Freddie's replacement. I think that if Queen and Adam collaboration ever happened it would be not under Queen name only, but just like they did with Paul Rogers - Queen + Adam Lambert.
I think that Adam is so far the only vocalist able to pull that off. His vocal range is insane, his stage presence is incredible. So yes - I will be waiting forward to it and to any record that Adam makes

Hmmm…. I don't think so. I see nothing wrong with added a new frontman to any band that no longer has one. It's not all about the singer, but the band as a whole.
That being said, if Lambert get's offered this great opprotunity, why shouldn't he take it? But then again, he should start his own career and show the world what he has to offer as an individual. Not by playing some older songs someone else wrote and who already did an amazing job of singing.

to be completely honest as my display name says i am obsessed with adam but i think it would be a great disservice to himself if he was to become the new queen lead singer because then he would be called"the new freddie mercury" permanently and the music industry is about being an individual. I think although Queen would be successful with him that it wouldnt be real. Take for example, adams fans would follow him wherever he goes, the would only go to see queen because they were in love with him, most AI viewers have no idea who queen is aside from them performing on the show. Queen fans although they would respect Adam because you cant not respect him because he is amazing, they would resent him because they would think he is trying to be another Freddie. I LOVE QUEEN, I LOVE FREDDIE and I absolutely without a doubt adore Adam but I think he should just do the solo thing or get his own band together so that way he is known As Adam Lambert…the one who changed the music industry for a generation. Regardless of what he chooses to do I will follow his career but thats just my opinion.
