Internet Sensation Susan Boyle Returns To Britain's Got Talent - and UNDERWHELMS!

Finally!

After weeks and weeks of auditions, global phenom Susan Boyle was once again competing on the stage of Britain's Got Talent.

Yes, she's got a new makeover. Yes, she just made it through to the finals. But, unfortunately, her performance was too measured and lackluster. It lacked passion and that spark that made her a viral superstar in the first place.

That's what we think, at least.

What do U think????

CLICK HERE to watch SuBo perform Memory from the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Cats.

Thoughts????

  1. 201

I used to hate this song (such cheese)–until I heard Susan Boyle sing it.
    Damn, girl! Team Boyle.

  2. 202

What the hell do you expect. From the day she made her first appearance there has been nothing but preasure on the poor women. It sounded like she was a bit nervous and I give her full credit for not cracking under it. I think your just jealous because you have no talent but pull people a part like the winner you are!!

  3. 203

Susan did a beautiful job. I think she had a nervous start, but came into it most wonderfully. I really think that no matter how she ends up, she'll have herself a recording contract. If it can happen on American Idol, it can happen on BGT.

  4. 204

I think she is talented but tasteless, how come she sings without even blink… I SHE WAS TIFF AS CONCRET…AWFULL

  5. 205

I loved it! The high notes were heavenly!

  6. 206

I can't wait until her rap cd comes out. That's going to be the bomb. Peace Susan!!!!!!

  7. 207

    She's the next Freddie Mercury!!!!!!!

  8. Sezzy says – reply to this

    208

your an idiot perez. it was great :) the song just isnt as dramatic as her previous choice…

  9. 209

This is what I think Fat Ass Mario - You are not a judge of talent. Aight????

  10. 210

She was a lot better than her first performance I think.

  11. 211

Perez, have you ever even seen "Cats"? Grizabella, the character singing the song, is frail and neglected and weak. She is begging for a chance to be taken from her misery by being the Jellicle cat chosen to ascend to the Heaviside layer. The canonical interpretation of "Memories" was performed by Betty Buckley (yes, THAT Betty Buckley, of "Eight is Enough"). If you had ever listened to Betty sing "Memories", you would know Susan's interpretation was dead on. If you have any critique, it's in the song Susan chose to perform, not the way she performed it. She was brilliant!

  12. 212

The start was rocky, but I loved it.

  13. 213

I don't think she was "underwhelming" at all. She was probably terrified to go on stage with all the hype people have placed on her.

  14. 214

Please don't deny this woman's talent….Her voice is simply beautiful!! It's about talent, not about the designer clothes or the "Hollywood" look or who she knows. It's about the VOICE.

It's like the Danny's and Allison's on American Idol..They do have the best vocals; regardless of what America voted for.

    Please don't discount Susan's ability.

    Kind Regards,

  15. 215

is everyone in britain ugly ?

  16. 216

I think the hype just got SO huge….that when she didn't completely BLOW everyone away, they were like..meh.

    Good job, SuBo!

  17. 217

I get it… guess you don't like her cause you found out she was straight! Heterophobe!!!

  18. 218

Clearly not the best… seemed a bit nervous and maybe overconfident. It makes you wonder if she simply has a talent to sing certain numbers with perfection… through memorization and practice, but may be unable to deliver with others. Unfortunate but my fingers are still crossed.

  19. 219

    Awwww Susan is cool.
But I think the rabbit has lesbian obsessions about Anne Coulter.
    They'd make a great couple.

  20. 220

definitely not overrated! the spark was still there. this time we knew what to expect so there was none of that feeling from the first time, the press and paparazzi ruined everything.

  21. 221

No Pezzie, SuBo was very good. She started out a little soft but ended on a huge "Bravisimo!"

  22. 222

Re: JuicyCouture323 – just like leslie vogel huh? this woman actually did her eyebrows for £5 and had her hair done for £35 in her local village salon because of the media frenzy and comments on her caterpillars… I know who I would rather look like and its certainly not Vogel!

  23. m.j says – reply to this

    223

Honestly, she sounded nervous..you can tell because in the beginning she's holding her stomach trying to get her voice back.

It also had something to do with the song choice.

  24. 224

    That performance was whack.

  25. Lucas says – reply to this

    225

Underrated? Don't think so. Did you notice her pressing her belly at the beggining — to get the sound to come from her stomach (not her nose). I heard 2 off=tunes, but she carried that song all the way to heaven. If anyone on this MB can pull it off — post it on You Tube and see how many hits you get. That includes you Perez!

    Best, Mel

  26. 226

I think she chose this song because it's beautiful and ironic. Her new life is just beginning. She seemed nervous but landed the ending beautifully!

  27. 227

totally agree she aint no paul potts, vote diversity for the win!

  28. 228

    It was hardly underwhelming!!
She's amazingly talented. I still want diversity to win though :)

  29. 229

I agree 100% that her performance didn't have any emotions. And yes, she is overrated totally. People usually don't listen to this sort of singing and now everyone is obsessed with her. Suddenly everyone loves her but no could even name one professional and famous singer that sings ever better. I like her to bits but i think that there are even more great people on britains got talent. But now it's all about her that makes me feel like i don't want to watch the show anymore.

  30. 230

Perez, you old sourpuss, I think Susan did a FANTASTIC job singing Memories!!! She is so naturally talented! I hope she goes on to win!!!

  31. 231

Re: hysteric.emma – What are you talking about? I live in the UK and she is very popular where I live. Everyone is cheering her on!

  32. Lise says – reply to this

    232

Perez did you actually watch the results show? Susan Boyle came in first place with the public vote. She didn't "Just make it through" as you put it. Diversity were the ones that had to go up against Natalie Okri to stay in the competition.

  33. 233

A PERFECT example of how hype can create a star and how the hype can overshadow the actual talent of the individual. The first part of the first song we heard from Susan Boyle was pretty great and went downhill shortly thereafter but by that point people couldn't get over the fact that an "ugly" woman such as this could sing anything beautiful that they were awestruck from then on out.
This second performance is a complete nightmare. It's off-key, off-timing, and uninspired. I feel bad for her because the 'hype' will soon fade, and fast and boy will she fall hard after all the media and this world has done to 'lift' her up. Poor woman.

  34. 234

it wasn't as exciting because you knew what to expect. but she was and is still incredible, and mad as a box of frogs.

  35. 235

Leave her be! Can you imagine the sort of pressure she must have been under to perform that night!?

  36. 236

im fed up with her now! come on diversity!

  37. 237

I thought she was superb appart from the fail at the begining, her and Diversity definately deserved to go through.

  38. 238

I'm sick of hearing about her. The only reason people started to talk about her was because everyone is just so shallow that they were knocked over with surprise because she wasn;t completely deluded and sucky… she isn't that good.

  39. Delsy says – reply to this

    239

i like diversity more i mean i am 13 and i wouldn't buy her CD because she is not young people type(not being streotypical) she is amazing but she is just not the right type

  40. 240

Thank you Perez, she does not have ANY spark, she's a cocky cow.
It bugs me that she is gonna win no matter what else happens. PLEASE DON'T VOTE FOR HER!

  41. 241

Man this woman looks like Jack Black!! Are they related?

  42. 242

i totally agree. she wasnt as good and i dont think shes going to win. i dont get what all the hype is about with her!

  43. 243

She sang a difficult song brilliantly! Despite what she said, she was obviously nervous, but was still excellent.

  44. 244

Diversity were so much better on the night. If we're comparing singers Grege Pritchard the male soprano and Jamie Pugh the Welsh singer are way better than Susan Boyle they've just had less media attention.

  45. 245

She's not that good. She's good, but overrated. She sang once and half the world was pouring over her. There are better opera singers in the competition who deserve more credit.

  46. 246

WTF?! I could make a better performance than that, at least during the first half of the song, and that's NOT a good thing. And what's with missing the notes in the end? I thought she would be calmer by then and not let the nerves interfer…

  47. 247

I AGREE! FOR ONCE PEREZ, I AGREE WITH YOU!

  48. 248

firstly the whole performance was a dudd, to start on a bad note is not the way to go
secondly she has an unfair advantage due to all the hyped up attention she has received from the states & if people go on you tube & look at the little boy they put through the week after he has had just as many hits as SuBo
thirdly she needs to learn how to sing with her diaphragm not just through her nose as this is causing the poor pronunciation in all her songs

  49. h311o says – reply to this

    249

Bad choice of song. She looked like she was wearing curtains. And Diversity deserved better. Susan Boyle is overrated and pityfully arrogant beyond belief. When she was asked if she felt the pressure for her performance she retorted 'what pressure'. Well, I'd love for her not to win after that. She obviously knows she's at an unfair advantage over the other competitors but last night she wasn't amazing. She wasn't amazing in the auditions either. So what an average person can sing? Its not bloody abnormal. Her incredible story can't be any more worthy of recognition than the others. Hollie Steel has the ultimate sob story, so if that's the way to go then she should win. She's a better singer, a hundred times better.
    Diversity or Flawless FTW!

  50. -liz- says – reply to this

    250

Are you serious Perez??? Talk about turning on somebody!! She was amazing…the final part is breath-taking. I hope she wins it considering she's been the favourite for so long now.

Diversity are unbelievable…definitely the right 2 went through last night. The guy who choreographs Diversity's routines is a genius…seriously you should post it on here Perez.

  51. 251

Re: -liz- – i agree, i think diversity would get loads of suppost if they had te same attention

  52. 252

you could tell she was nervous in the way her breath was off in the beginning… she seemed to be feeling her diaphragm at the start trying to settle in…after a few bars and a few bum notes, she seemed to pull it off… i think overall she overcame and that's likely why she had the judges standing….of course our expectations were high…i still love her regardless…anyone hearing her first on the show and then the various recordings from the past that made it online, well we all know she can sing very very well….

  53. 253

I'm just not a big fan of that song. She sang it very well, but it doesn't have the drama of I Dreamed A Dream. It wouldn't have been right to sing it in the same way. I think she did very well.

  54. 254

    I think she's wonderful.

  55. 255

Re: Smiley Miley is Great – yeah, screw the queen's english…she should learn to speak american and get big plastic boobs like yours… ; )

  56. 256

I think she was great in parts during this performance. A little bit shakey at the start. She was probably nervous. The pressure musta been immense. Fingers crossed for her final performance. I luv her.

  57. 257

she was amazing….stop trying to downheart the performance!
    DIVERSITY WERE AMAZING!!!

  58. scb89 says – reply to this

    258

i thought she was average. then again iv never understood the obssession with her. she's not the best singer in the world, it's only coz she surprised the judges by looking how she does and singing like that.

the performance last night wasn't great. diversity are far far better, but come on…as if she wouldnt be in the final. but if she wins i will be pissed! theres such better people than her! plus, didnt the queen already say she should perform at the royal variety anyway? jeez!

  59. 259

OMG I cant believe any of you would say she didnt do well!!! she did wonderful and i didnt see anything wrong with her performance, this is just an attempt to media kill her previous attention…get off of it, 99% of you cant even sing like that!

  60. 260

Re: Smiley Miley is Great – you need to learn something real fast, the BRITISH are the ones who gave us AMERICANS our english language. Im married to a Brit and I would rather speak like him over the flubber that Americans have learned to speak over the past 200 years.

  61. 261

Re: agentpeppermint – Than move the fuck back…. you limy………

  62. 262

Re: agentpeppermint – fair enough most cant sing like her, but there are better singers in the competition.

  63. 263

Eugh so bored of susan boyle. I think I'll go on next year, i'm uglier and have a better voice! ha!

  64. 264

i live in scotland and i dont know ANYONE who likes her…

  65. zed says – reply to this

    265

No entertainer is ever going to be consistent. I don't think it was the right song. Hell, Give Anita Baker a Whitney Houston song and it may not work. Does it mean she doesn't have talent? Michael Jordan or Lebron James are both Great, but they are even greater with the team that they are given. With Susan, I do think it is definitely the song that she sings. She has to be careful in her choice. It was just ok.

  66. 266

What did u expect her to perform like ?
Shes probably suffering from exhaustion from the ludicrious explotation from the media ! Shes jst a wee lady from Scotland ,
Yeah she can sing really well but theres been sooo much hype about her the only way she could have lived up to the expectations is if she shot fireworks out her ass whilst singing , dancing , performing magic tricks and strangling simon cowell.
I mean , seriously , I feel so sorry for her now because whatever she does and however well she performs it'll never be enough for the media or the public .

  67. 267

OVERRATED FATASS WHO BUILT POPULARITY OUT OF BEING FUGLY!!! SHE SUCKS AND UNDERWHELMS TREMENDOUSLY. TOLD YALL SO…

  68. 268

    SOBO-DACIOUS !!! BRAVO!!!

  69. 269

she was overrated in the first place

  70. 270

Agreed, and there are obvious timing and tuning issues. I swear to god she has some form of mental retardation. Have you seen her in interviews?

  71. 271

I didn't see her before, but what make-over? You mean she looked worse? : (

  72. 272

That's one more standing ovation than you'll get in your lifetime, Mario.

  73. 273

Wonderful performance! Sure, she was nervous but who wouldn't be after all the attention she has received over the past several weeks. The pressure must have been enormous. Remember she is still an amateur on her way to international stardom. No matter what your age or situation, dreams can still come true. Good on you, Susan. Time will take care of the rough spots.

  74. 274

I thought she sang just like any other woman from the WI choir. Very flat in places, overdone vibrato, and to top it all off all of the charm had gone. She was no longer the shy woman who had no confidence in herself. Suddenly she was cocky, aggressive and downright rude when she got through. Doing that hideous dance in front of all the people still waiting to find out if they'd got through was tantamount to screaming "in your face" at them. Then that gyrating she did for Piers….just vile. I don't think she is a nice woman at all, and I hope that the voting public see that now too.

  75. 275

    i think she is fabby

  76. 276

any true musical lover would have gotten chill bumps as i did :-) sh'es doing great.

  77. 277

meh… she was off for a few notes but other than that she has a great voice

  78. 278

Maybe she's what they call an "Idiot Savant" ???

  79. 279

i agree. she struggled at the beginning.

  80. leo32 says – reply to this

    280

I agree she was underwhelming. She was scared stiff - this time she had ALOT to lose and I think her nerves just got to her. She needs to get her confidence back and practice singing in the dark - her walk from the spotlight to the centre of the stage was terrifying to her and she could barely see the crowd. I'm thinking she'll be used to it next time and should do better.

  81. 281

I guess we should be thankful she didn't sing "Crazy Bitch" by Buckcherry!!

  82. 282

Its beatuiful but the first performance was way better no compareson. You can tell she wasvery neverous in the , but later she let loose!

  83. 283

looks like nerves got to her

  84. 284

    Love her!

  85. 285

she got a standing ovation…..all the other sites are raving about this performance. once again perez you are talking out of your ass!!!!

  86. 286

please, please. we have had these times. where's the new.

  87. 287

..i think the same thing that happened to adam lambert on american idol is going to happen to susan. He got so much fame at first, he was under so much pressue, and even though he didnt crack it affected him in the end. He was expected to win and he didnt just because everyone thought he was going to and deserved it. For susan the same thing will happen i think. she got so much fame and in the end she will be blinded by another performer..whether they are better or not.

  88. 288

    I hate the woman!!
Other contestants were way more entertaining etc.

Hope she doesnt win on Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!

  89. fiona says – reply to this

    289

    Team BOYLE!

  90. 290

I thought she sang beautifully. Obviously the judges did too, seeing how they gave her a standing ovation at the end.

  91. 291

    WAS SHE READING???

  92. 292

SHES FUCKING AWFUL!!!! She messed up the brgining, couldnt hit the notes throughout and messed up towards the end! Its pathetic, shes NOT that tallented and shes being pushed n she doesnt deserve it, she makes me want to physically vomit when i see her, shes a fat, ugly mess!
I dont want to sound big headed but i can sing 100000 times better than her, but if i went on BGT i wouldnt get as much fuss n press cause im not a fat, old, hideous freak! I honestly cant stand her in any way, her personality sucks aswell, lieing about being a virgin is so lame getting the sympathy vote for being an ugly lost cause, its fucking pathetic and its makeing me FUCKING CRAZY!!!!!!!! I HATE HER!!!!!!!!

  93. 293

I felt Susan was a little nervous and reserved initially; it was as though she was thinking about her performance too hard. As the song progressed, she seemed to relax and by the end she hit it out of the park!

  94. 294

people only think shes amazing because theyre surprised.. now thats worn off people can see shes good.. but not the best. definatly not the best in the competition… give the others a chance!!

  95. 295

Absolutely beautiful and every bit as good as Betty Buckley's performance in the original stage show. It is a measured song with a big ending. Just PERFECT! I got goosebumps, always a good sign!

  98. 298

    Re: Shoehorn
A what now? I don't understand what you meant by that?
I'm just saying, it's not a hard one to sing. I'm a trained classical singer, so maybe that's why I find it easy, but I've heard my wee cousin sing it just as well without lessons… I just don't get the hype, y'know?

  99. 299

i liked her better when she was dowdy

    Lovely
