Seriously Perez…I think its the song you hate and not her voice. It isnt a good song. Her voice however is great. She has superb control and a nice range. You would say anything negative about her that you could just because you want her boyfriend.
Funny thing is she is sing a song that calls for her to be theatrical and a tad overstatred…Much like your favorite AI crooner.You love him and hate her…If she was Gay I bet your opinion would have been different.
I would love to hear her sing things relevant to today. I bet you would be surprised…But then again you are too much of a wuss to admit it if you did.
i must've listened to something wrong, after i read the comments, i think people now just like disagreeing with perez. that was god awful. I wouldn't even have it on stage. She sounds like a good singer to me. Granted her voice isn't really mainstream, it's more akin to something you'd hear on Broadway. She's way better than your beloved, Katy Perry.
After listening to this track a couple times, I am quite convinced that this lady can sing. Her range is great , especially her lower register. She has such great control, she must have taken years of voice and singing lessons, so refined. I can't wait till she trys more modern music, it would be interesting to hear her perform some R&B. I Just want her to dirty up a bit more, she 's far to perfect looking to be taken seriously, she must mussy up her hair, smoulder her eyes, dress grungier, chew her nails, get half shot, she needs to experience great emotional pain in order to be able to sing with soul, Justin dumping her would maybe humble her.

This is about as well as most actresses who perform in small local or regional theater productions do. It's better than being subjected to karaoke, but not by much. She sings sharp (off-key on the high end), which at least is better than singing flat, but she is completely missing the correct notes (which generally means someone just doesn't have the ear for singing). You can also clearly see from the structure form she makes with her face that she does not know how to use proper body/face form to sing correctly (most notably she juts her lower jaw way out, trying to create the open throat shape that is critical to producing a good sound). You have to get that shape by muscular training, not skeletal misalignment.

This was by no means a bad singing performance. She's got a musical theatre type of voice which suits the role she's in.

Ms. Biel´s voice has not been properly trained and I think her voice coach and her singing teacher should be ashamed for making this girl believe she can sing at a professional level. There will always be bad actors that make pathetic attemps to sing a song in a film. This is what happens when a performer does not recognize the need for reflection and study and a producer acts in a most irresponsible way. "Mad about the Boy" is a beautiful song that suits most beginners, so this tells me that Ms. Biel has no talent to begin serious training, never mind showing her performance to others.
