She Will Never Work Again!

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooFashion SmashionRachel Zoe

This is sacrilege!

In a profile in the new issue of The New York Times Magazine, Rachel Zoe does the unthinkable - she insults Vogue editrix Anna Wintour.

Oh, yes she did!

Says Zoe, "Anna Wintour is one of my heroes, but they say that I’m more influential. As great as it is, Vogue won’t change a designer’s business. But if an unknown brand is worn by a certain person in a tabloid, it will be the biggest designer within a week. When I worked with Nicole [Richie], there were things that she wore that designers had to remake for another season because there was such demand.’’

It's on!

We don't know how Rachel is going to spin this one.

It's The New York Times. You can't say you were misquoted by The New York Times!

firstly, ok yeah she's nasty looking and clearly not well due to her new rexic look but she is not insulting anyone. secondly, perez is just trying to manipulate the situation because he doesnt' like her..yeah the alien looking stylist is really high on herself, but she is not insulting anyone..

  2. Ashley says – reply to this

Perez - when r u gonna tell us the ratings? They must have rocked!!

  3. Lucy says – reply to this

People who work in the fashion industry make me laugh. They take it all so damn seriously….we're talking about bits of fabric for fuck's sake. Who cares?
A stylist. What a ridiculous job. One anorexic bimbo telling another what dress to put on ….

  4. Rachel says – reply to this

what's the big deal? who cares?

  5. Hello Kitty says – reply to this

Even though you hate her because you must feel your own fat when you look at her.. there is a small amount of truth.

While one might feel like a kid on Christmas when the new edition of Vogue hits the Book Shops… there is no way you can doubt the power of a what a celeb in good standing.. and sometimes in bad.. can do wonders for sales.

But Zoe might have pulled an Alivin (The Chipmunks).. when he said that the Chipmunks were even bigger than Mickey Mouse & the shit hit the fan!

  6. incognito says – reply to this

can someone please give her a sandwich.

  7. KC says – reply to this

Oh, look — it's a blonde Tina Louise! You really ought to do a "separated at birth" for this one. LOL

  8. sarcasatire says – reply to this

She said she was more INFLUENTIAL than Anna Wintour. And it's true. How much of the MTV/VH1 generation reads Vogue more than People/US Weekly?

We get our fashion inspiration from the red carpet, tabloid photos, and gossip blogs.

Paris, you should think Rachel Zoe. If it wasn't for her slip-ups, you wouldn't have all the terrible shots of Nicole richie or Mischa Barton floating around.

  9. mez says – reply to this

i just finished reading the entire article. first, eat some sauce, babe. sure you know the right people, and have a "sense" of style but you are so out of touch. i hold you responsible for the state of fashion today, that is to say LACK OF. you singlehandedly brought back "ho."

  10. Matthew says – reply to this

What's Nuclear Wintour going to do? Tell her fawning designers (and advertisers) to not to give Rachel and her constantly photographed clients free stuff? I've got a vision problem with that, I don't see it happening. Yes, Anna can make a young designer's career (or a current designer's fiscal year), but so can Ms. Zoe, probably faster and easier. Frankly, I'm glad to see somebody talkin' smack about the woman, other than Lauren Weisberger (albeit by proxy), of course.

Another uneducated anorexic raisin who thinks she's influential.

Can all these delusional people please get the psychiatric help they need. And this one needs to be watered asap.

  13. Calamity Pain says – reply to this

someone give this girl a twinkie and a glass of milk STAT!

  14. B says – reply to this

She is right though. Vogue has certain readers and yes, they sell to those readers BUT if you get a celeb papped in something that is going to have a far wider reach. Maybe she could have worded what she said better but what she said was the truth.

  15. MC says – reply to this

She's had some good work done to her face

  16. Rachel says – reply to this

I think Rachel Zoe's comments are totally valid and not threatening in the least. Why are you making a big deal out of this?

Celebrities wear what great stylists tell them to wear…Last time I checked, Anna Wintour wasn't a celebrity stylist.

  17. mejane28 says – reply to this

Eat a twinkie girl! You can't be influential if your dead.

  18. Ullis says – reply to this

oh, she scares me . creepy

  19. bh91362 says – reply to this

actually, you misinformed wannabe … anna's pretty much known as being close to irrelevant. you're not the queen of all media; you're the queen of all self-created drama.

  21. REPUBLICANS ARE IGNORANT ASSHOLES says – reply to this

Do you have a point with this? Stop already with adding this ONE-SIDED bit to every thread.

  22. Elisa says – reply to this

ANNA WINTOUR SUCKS !!! Fashion Guru??!! She dresses like my grandma, she has no style at all, she wears fur all the time and god, this haircut looks ridiculous.
AS for her personality, she is a snooty bitch. She is one of those arrogant fashion people who think fashion rules the world. Come on, it's a minor art; always will be.
Rachel Zoe may be way too skinny, but she has style. She sets new trends constantly, Anna Wintour don't. She belong to that "intellectual" fashion nobody cares about.

  23. Barb says – reply to this

Perez- how come you keep talking about this chick that no one cares about. You must have a gay-crush on her :-)

Why don't you be nice, and buy her a sandwich from crying out loud!

  24. aidan says – reply to this

its true about how vogue wont change a designers business. but her being more influential than anna wintour? is she delusional or what? i cant believe she actually said that! each and every good designer out there is seeking for anna wintours approval shes by far the most influential person in the fashion world!

  25. dave says – reply to this

    um, who is Rachel Zoe?

  26. victor says – reply to this

and she didnt even insult her!

  27. Missy says – reply to this

The reality is, what she said was correct. How many of you readers subscribe to "Vogue"?

  28. J says – reply to this

um, I don't see why this is a big deal….

  29. kate! says – reply to this

if Anna Wintour were to start some shit, Rachel Zoe would eat her alive…LOOK AT THOSE TEETH!

  30. aneurysm says – reply to this

she's right. & for whomever said she thinks too highly of herself: are you implying anna wintour does not? *eye roll*
with that said, she seems like a really open genuine person, particularly rare for that scene i would think. i'm excited about her halston venture & possible tv show. i would definitely tune in.

  31. aidan says – reply to this

its true about how vogue wont change a designers business. but her being more influential than anna wintour? is she delusional or what? i cant believe she actually said that! every good designer out there is seeking for anna'a approval and she is by far the most influential person in the fashion world this rachel needs to get off of what shes taking! shes high on something!

  32. Geez. says – reply to this

Wow. She's gross. Bones everywhere. The problem here isn't that she's 'dissing' vogue. She needs food… and perhaps a facelift to, she looks very old for her age.

  33. 3 Snaps says – reply to this

Awww Helll No!!!! Raisin face is sooo going down. She better watch her ass B4 she gets snuffed out in the middle of the night by some masked Vogue Henchman. Tanorexic Beeeeeyotch!

  34. brina says – reply to this

well, shes true!! who walks around town in lavish ball gowns, pearls, petticoats or prom dresses? what you see in vogue is what you see on the runway, or at an award show.
nobody (on a daily basis) looks like that in real life. what you see in US magazine or star magazine is whats trendy and popular no matter what brand it is. as long as it looks cute and is affordable!!…

    shes so right!!

  35. le diable st.monroe says – reply to this

  36. philip says – reply to this

rachel is 100% right!!! her work is featured on a weekly basis in all the weeklies and has more influence on the public who follow celeb trends. vogue on the other hand only comes out once a month.

  37. WeTHEPEOPLE says – reply to this

    VOGUE is tired

    Prune face is right

  38. Terez says – reply to this

First off, fuck Anna Wintour. She's skeletal, treats her people like shit and is the devil who wears Prada.

  39. J-Stoner says – reply to this

    skeletor needs a cheeseburger.

  40. Well... says – reply to this

She's right. Everything she said is accurate.

But GODDAMN she needs a sandwich….a couple of them.

  41. WeTHEPEOPLE says – reply to this

    vogue is tired

    anna wintour is tired

she's old and dusty and a crab

  42. benny says – reply to this

how can people think zoe is right? anna wintour has singlehandedly brought many noteable current designers into the mainstream. without her influence such designers as marc jacobs and alexander mcqueen would not have the prevelance they do today. what has zoe done for fashion promote kitson???

  43. junolee says – reply to this

holy crap - time to lay of the coke - we can see why nicole got so heavily into it - Rachel used to be beautiful and now she truly embodies a coke head:(

  44. mez says – reply to this

i can't believe she orders a plate of vegetables at a nice restaurant in paris. AND then sends it back because it has sauce…ON THE SIDE.

    no, really.

  45. EWWW WTF??!?!? says – reply to this

  46. Margaret says – reply to this

What a delusional skeletor. Anna Wintour is my hero, not only is she a living fashion legend, but no matter what happens, Vogue will always ALWAYS be the fashion bible for most.
Zoe, there is no class in making yourself sound absolutely ridiculous.

  47. Rachel Zoe says – reply to this

Aww, c'mon guys. I'm so pretty! If I was more famous, you all would probably like me more.
OK so 3 minute miracle is a good idea.
Look at my teef, they so brand new, and my skin, orange, c'mon.

  48. Lisa says – reply to this

Does everyone famous (almost famous) think like this? Are they all this incredibly self-centered?

  49. Margarita says – reply to this

Come on, Perez. She's not slagging off Anna Wintour. She's talking about a change of the times: what she's saying is that fashion publications no longer wield as much influence as celebrities do when it comes to dictating trends. And frankly, she's right — not so much about herself specifically, but about celebrities in general.

  50. emily says – reply to this

Its funny b/c people are saying what influences fashion more than anything are celeb mags like US weekly….but the thing of it is is those girls in those pictures are wearing items that were inspired by the designs shown in Vogue magazine. They all just trickle down. There is an upper power. And that power is and has been for a long time Anna Wintour and Vogue magazine. Like it or not we all have pieces of clothing right now that were made from the inspiration of a top designer's creation in a magazine such as Vogue. Think about that.

  51. jane says – reply to this

any reputible designer will always choose to place their pieces in Vogue over a tired celebrity. but usually they get both, no thanks to you Raisin Face. If you weren't doing it someone else would be… and thousands of others are. when you're dead from skin cancer Vogue will still be around and thriving.

*has anyone ever told you that you look like Reagan in "The Exorcist"?

  52. Cori says – reply to this

She has HUGE Mr. Ed teeth!

  53. harlow M. says – reply to this

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH HER! and with what Brina said! Vogue is all full of RIDICULOUS clothing that people cannot wear. Like I'm going to go out grocery shopping in a ballgown and peacock feathers. Rachel is right! Her along with all the other celebrity stylists are more influential than Anna and her minions.

  54. titogobbi says – reply to this

    BITCH EAT!!!!!!!

  55. COCO says – reply to this

With all my respect Perez, sometimes you are extremely naive. The New York Times has misquoted a lot of people and they are not in the business of saying the truth anymore, to the contrary, the New York Times is a byas left idologic propaganda machine, that is not interest in the "facts" but to serve an idology.

Having said that, Rachel Zoe has the right to trash whoever she wants and Anna Wintour is not GOD.

So stop being a servant, an open mouth subordinate to those institutions or people. They are not worthy an entry in your web.-

  56. lbc4eva says – reply to this

its true. the trinity of fashion pubs (vogue, elle, and bazaar) are must haves, but rarely cover anyone new thats not an estabished house. and when they do its nothing compared to when a celeb is seen wearing something "indie." there's a certain power that a celeb and her stylist (if she has one) can use to help small designers get noticed… check out saintgrace.com… worn be several celebs and even made popular by them! but never seen in vogue…

  57. Lynn says – reply to this

How is she a stylist when most times I have seen her, she looks like a bag lady who hasn't had a good meal in years.

  58. sarah says – reply to this

Re: Tonya – If you read what was said you would understand that she was giving compliments to those she respected but stating the sad truth of our desire for everything celebrity. More people are reading the tabloid they can find in the supermarket than Vogue. It just shows that the shift from the fashion industry to celebrities making the trend is real.

  59. JR says – reply to this

Eat Rachel, eat. For the love of God, EAT!!!

  60. RERE says – reply to this

separated at birth? rachel zoe & skeletor …come on perez…

  61. squishy says – reply to this

American Vogue has become extremely stale in the past few years. Rachel is correct in saying that Anna isn't as influential anymore. But then again, neither is Rachel Zoe. Her fifteen minutes have come and gone.

  62. wrongwayhenry says – reply to this

omg, she has totally destroyed herself… can anyone say first page of the black list?!?

  63. PARIS says – reply to this

What? You actually think you can't be misquoted by The New York Times? Are you ntus Perez? The New York Times is not a newspaper anymore, is a joke. Journalists can not be bias a political party, and the New York Times is simple a liberal's whore.- They will misquote my dog if that will help the communsits in this country (the far left).

Regarding Mis Zoe, she can said anything she please, since when are we living in a totalitariam country? She is free to speak her mind.- And still work.

  64. jenna says – reply to this

    Re: phxaz – she's 36? oh my…

  65. Tilda says – reply to this

It is NOT a sacrilege to say Anna Wintour & American Vogue has lost its influence and edge. It is one of the most boring fashion publications out there. Ms. Wintour is a legend and has revolutionized fashion magazines, but American Vogue has become quite stale. It's time she hands it over to someone else.

  66. Mrs. Duggar's Vagina says – reply to this

    What a FUG!

  67. mfd says – reply to this

they say that Anna Wintour is a big Bit*h anyway~~
Didn't the "Devil Wears Prada" showcase this?????
i get Vogue as a subscription and have been reading it for about 35 years.
It was always for an older crowd, not for young people
and who can afford Versace or Cavali anyway????

  68. Jay says – reply to this

CLEARLY her lack of food has made her halucinate!

  69. carolina says – reply to this

I don't see the big deal on that comment. Surely Anna Wintour runs Vogue for a decade but she's not as powerful as she once was. Many other publication's are giving Vogue a Run. I think what Rachel Chupacabra Zoë was saying is a commentary. Basically it is true. We all want to know what celebrities are wearing and one of those influential Hollywood Girls is Nicole and MK, and Ashley. I mean my good friend commented then when she was in Paris this summer all the girls are obsessed with American Fashion and Most looked like Nicole Ritchie. I think it's fine. It' as good as the day Anna Wintour got hit with Tofu Pie.

  70. Brooke says – reply to this

someone needs to feed this gross looking girl. She is wasting away and does NOT look good at all

  71. perez wears prada says – reply to this

she didn't say anything bad..she was commenting on how ridiculous celebrity is…how a celeb (even an undeserving one like you) can wear something and make it the next big thing and the designer who made it the next big deal. if she wanted to say something bad about wintour she's too late..devil wears prada didn't even insult that old bat!

  72. M. says – reply to this

she's so FUGGGGLY and unoriginal I can't even believe she's employed!

  73. Bobbi says – reply to this

Why can't you say you were misquoted by the NY Times? They've had reporters make stories up completely! What's one little quote?

  74. becca says – reply to this

Is she serious? That anorexic bitch is nothing, and will never EVER be anywhere near the fabulousness that is Anna Wintour. Please, bitch. You're clearly delusional.

  75. mon says – reply to this

there's nothing wrong with what she said. you're the spinner perez. just ’cause you don't like her.

  76. carolina says – reply to this

    For Emily:
You got that quote from the Devil Wears Prada. You slightly changed the wording around but for the most part that what Miranada says to Anne (Forgot her name in the Movie). Fashion is generic these days. I would rather turn to magazines like The Face, French Vogue, Bazzar, W , Purple, Elle, V , etc to find interesting designers. I for one Love Jane Mayle and didnt need Anna Wintour to spalsh her clothes in the front pages.

  77. zara uk says – reply to this

its kind of true how many people this day and age read vouge?

  78. J..i..m..my says – reply to this

Oh no she didn't just say that. Bitch is full of herself and yet still manages to look emaciated and sickly. She is known for dressing people whom look like their dead or about to die. How dare she think she is a big name in the fashion world and to insult a magazine like VOGUE which is the bible to us. I'd like to think that coke she was snorting messed up her better judgment but that would be insulting the cocaine and I can't talk smack about my white friend like that.

I should buy a copy of Vogue and smack her with it. "here bitch now you can talk"

  79. Jno says – reply to this

I think Rachel Zoe wins this…Anna Wintour a cold, in-love-with-herself bitch. And Rachel's right anyway. People are into getting what celebs have!

  80. Coco says – reply to this

    Vogue is so last century.

  81. daniel says – reply to this

  82. Judi says – reply to this

    She's disgusting.

    How old is she? 90?

  83. abigael says – reply to this

ok, maybe she went alittle bit over with the anna wintour comment

    but uhm

    what she said is

    actually true

  84. Skeletor is right says – reply to this

I hope the powers-in-charge will read this and dump the old Hag. You know things are bad when Bazaar is more interesting then the "bible" (Vogue).

  85. youcanonlywishperez says – reply to this

She has molded SO MANY careers simply on style choices…We are ALL adults,
Lets look at ALL YOUR interviews under a microscope oops I mean a MACROSCOPE!!! GIVE THE CHICK A break we all have our issues ( ACHH HAPPY MEAL OOO) Bless you perez

  86. lo says – reply to this

she is cracked out if she thinks she trumps the style powerhouse publication that is vogue.

  87. none says – reply to this

I cannot stand Wintour so I have no problem with what Zoe said.

  88. Craig Antonio says – reply to this

Dammm this girl needs to eat, any day now from what I hear she will be entering a eating disorder clinic. Sad.

  89. kira says – reply to this

What she said may or may not be true…but wise? Only a horse has bigger teeth than Ms. Zoe!!!

  90. wendy says – reply to this

Sure you can. The NYT has some of the best liars in the business. All the news that fits their ideology.

  91. Michelle loves Perez says – reply to this

Who is she again? Poster child for people with eating disorders? Let me guess, she's "naturally thin." (sarcasm)

  92. Jessica says – reply to this

I don't really like Rachel Zoe but what she's saying is probably true. More young girls probably pay attention to what Nicole Richie is wearing in the gossip mags than purchase Vogue regularly. Vogue's gone downhill. Anna Wintour's (I'm sure diamond-encrusted) shit doesn't stink.

  93. Margarita says – reply to this

Re: emily – No, not really. What you've said applies in the context of the Devil Wears Prada monologue regarding the general mall-shopping public, yes. But the celebs in US Weekly don't wear knock-off designs, nor do they need Vogue to act as their fashion go-between. They go directly to the source: designers generally send them free goods — sometimes entire racks of clothing and accessories, and this usually before they even hit the boutiques and in one or two cases that I recall, before they even hit the runway — and from these, the celebs take what they like. We then see the celebs showing up at events wearing these designs and either run out to buy that brand OR we wind up with some knock-off that is similar to what we saw them running around wearing.
Celebrities want to be trendsetters. They want to be wearing the latest styles BEFORE they hit the pages of Vogue. Cuz once they hit Vogue, they automatically get relegated to common knowledge, where even the fashion unconscious can read about them in some doctor's waiting room.

i can not believe she dare even compare herself to anna wintour. i hope anna does not even drop herself to this level that zoe has gone to to get publicity. zoe is a fad. wintour is a timeless classic. its like comparing jackie o to britney spears. wow… how dare she.
