The folks over at TLC are eating up all of the Jon & Kate dramz!
The network has ordered 40 episodes (!) for the current season of Jon & Kate Plus 8 with the assumption that this may be the final season for the reality show.
This announcement comes out after 9.8 million people tuned in to the season premiere on Monday night, making it the most-watched program of the night and the highest ratings TLC has ever received!
The cable network issued the following statement on Wednesday: "The show's ratings have grown consistently, as there has been interest in these real-life issues of this real-life family. We will continue to air as the interest continues, and the family wants to do it."
But there's no need to feel sorry for the Gosselins.
They made their own bed and now they have to lie in it!
Sigh. Jon and Kate are at fault for continuing the show, but TLC, the blood is on your hands too. Wake up. Life isn't all about ratings and money. Stop the show for the kids. Save your soul and redeem yourselves by doing something for the kids, for once.
Their children will look back at all of this and know the truth. Actions speak louder than words and mommy and daddy are totally NOT thinking about the kids….at all.
40 episodes will pay for future therapy for 8 little ones.
i watched the episode after all of the press out of curiosity. I have to tell you i watched it early on when the kids were small and thought it was cute. but, after the other nights premiere, i will never watch it again. when she finally cried at the end i had a little empathy for her but not much. i think she was showing off about the paparazzi and she clearly has so much hate for her husband. if they can televise there counseling and help another couple it would be worth it. otherwise, take them off the air.

Good for them! Something positive has to come out in the end. This not only teaches families what to expect when you have children but also having to face obstacles in your marriage as well. Hope they stay together!!

Who would have thought that 8 kids before your 30th birthday might not be the best idea? Oh well, its not TLCs fault, and all the blood on their hands shit is awfully dramatic. In terms of real life family problems, theirs certainly isn't the worst.
Wow I guess that really is the price of fame. I wonder if they feel like the money was all worth it now? Sad for the kids.

This show is obviously paying Perez for AD-VERT-I-SING. He pretty much admitted it the other day. Who the hell cares about reality TV anyway? most of it is fake!

I don't know why so many people have sympathy for Jon. I certainly don't have sympathy for either of them! I do strongly believe that Jon is so done with this show and has been for a couple years, and I for sure feel that Kate is the one pressuring him into the show, but look at what the guy is driving around in and further more there is no reason to cheat! If you hate your wife so much, leave her ass! I feel like Kate needs to swallow the tears, take off her glasses that are bigger than her head and her expensive designer clothing and realize that all of this shit was brought on her…if you "care" so much for your kids you would stop the show NOW…or chosen not to continue the 5th season…let these kids live for crying out loud, and start being a real Mom…just because a 30 minute episode makes you look like a Mom, doesn't mean you really are one.
Get back to the real world Jon and Kate! One day this show will be over, no one will care, the money will stop flowing and then what will you do??? Or more importantly what will your children do with parents who relied too much on freebies to raise their children for them.
It's all show. He needs to go to rehab, bloated, poor decisions. She needs to get laid!
The Gosselins and the network will never voluntarily stop. Too lucrative.
The only ways to stop it is to stop watching and tell the sponsors we're not watching either. Get 'em where it hurts. Those poor kids.
Perhaps this is all staged for the ratings. Maybe the show was about to be axed and this was their "brilliant" attempt to get the ratings up. Just a suggestion.

How much do Fug & Plugs make an episode? Whatever it is, they should have to save half of it for those poor kids future therapy bills.
I do feel sorry for them. I feel sorry for Kate. In the midst of chaios, she helped produce the show, wrote a book, and still manages to grocery shop! What the hell does Jon do except babysit? I think she is no more stearn than most fathers I know. Someone has to wear the pants and keep $$ coming in.

The show was painful to watch, it's obvious that Jon just want this whole show to be over and done with and I think that as it stands right now, he's right.. if he and Kate wants a fighting chance at their marriage, the show has got to go.. But Kate is such a snob she loves her "job" she never wants the show to end she wants the spotlight and the money, she's so shallow… i just hope that things work out for the best so that the kids could be in a stable environment….
Yes feel bad for them… who fucking cares if they got into this or not, care about the fact that there are 8 children who should have their family together. Poor kids have it hard enough with cameras around all the time….. Now you want to say who cares what happens with Mommy and Daddy because they are getting paid … NOT COOL!

I'm guilty of liking the show even though the kids are always howling and whacking each other on the head. And then there's Bossy, emasculating Kate….yes, they made their bed and now the paps will be hounding them every time they leave their property. I think that's punishment enough for them.
I can see where it's tempting to keep the show going. Every week they're raking in money many two income families don't make in a year. But for each of those weeks it's going to be more and more painful for them to make and us to watch. And I don't think they're faking it. You can't act that realistically. Also, I doubt they'll make the marriage work. Once it's over, it's over. You just can't stomach the other person anymore.
Jon needs to man up and give the girl some serious knocking boots. Perhaps they should make a porn: Jon & Kate + 8 Earth Shattering Make Her Pass Out and Shut Her Bitchy Piehole Orgasms. This may say the marriage! Yah?

I LOVE the show. The kids are getting experiences and outings that they could not afford if they had to live on Jon's IT job. The cameras for the episodes have not hurt them. HOWEVER the paps who got JON COMING OUT OF THE BAR WITH THE YOUNG GIRL AT 2AM has hurt the family. All the blogs and news media jumped in and starting chasing every move they all now make. Kate's brother and Jodi who are angry that Jodi is not on the show are really making money off the public interest now. They now think the show is exploiting the kids but THEIR own baby has been on the show before. I always felt Jodi undermined Kate by giving the children so much junk food and candy knowing Kate gave them healthy organic food. Kate has been in charge in the family but Jon has never shown a desire to take control.Someone had to run a tight ship to take care of 8 children and Kate did it. I admire her. Jon is ready to bolt but at least he stayed around long enough for the kids to get old enough for Kate to be able to handle traveling without him. I will watch the show and I wish Kate plus 8 all the best.

This family has a contract with the TlC network…who is to say that this contract was not renewed before all the bs came out. TLC will drag this out as long as they possibly can…higher ratings mean more mula. I will not lie and say that I am intrigued by this families life. But yet makinig your life public from day one is ruining it from the beginning. These children were going to deal with crap regardless…I feel that no matter the outcome the children would receive sometime of scrutiny in the years to come.

What is with this "need to know" entitlement BS humans in this country feel towards television? who cares whose lives we destroy, watching at train wreck is fun. NOT. Grow up and take some responsibility for the shows you watch, any of the sheep who are falling for this publicity nonsense are just as guilty as those two for contributing to the exploitation of those poor kids. TLC has as much blame as anyone. Trying to pawn Jon and Kate off as a "real-life family". In case you didn't know, cameras change behavior. People don't act the same when there is a camera around, not to mention many scenes from the show are scripted and those kids are working. The cameras haven't hurt them? You mean they aren't going to be affected by the millions of people who will stalk and harass them the rest of their lives? You don't think Jon going out to bars and getting drunk with women half his age hurt him? By the way, paparazzi didn't take those shots, people at the bar did, as well they should expose a loser like that.

You're right, it's better to just be like Jon and Kate and not let ANY FAMILY AROUND those children at all. But strangers and babysitters they don't know are fine. And so are the camera crew who are supposedly a surrogate family who are just going to disappear the second the show gets canceled soon. Once again, those kids are going to be abandoned. SICK. At least someone in that family has the balls to speak out for justice.

I love this show and feel so bad for all of them. I was watching older episodes and Jon is so happy and talkative. And poor Kate. How is she supposed to act? Peeps hate on her cuz she is bossy but she has 8 kids! She has to be bossy.

I am excited for this season. It's interesting how people believe that the cameras is somehow making the children's life worse, as if the cameras went away that suddenly their life would be better, a divorce is a divorce wether it airs on television or not. Jon clearly doesn't want the show b/c it could be used as evidence against him in court, as it could kate. I am excited to see how this plays out, I think everyone's so called concern for the kids is no more than a bunch of people thinking cameras actually has an affect on these 5 year olds, they aren't going to remember this 5 years from now.

WHY HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN ABOUT THE 8!!!!… Everyone always watched the show for hte kids and now everyone's forgotten about them while they simply blame their parents. There's no reason Mario needs to criticize em while their children are just victims. nobody's forcin him to be a jackass and try to tear their parents and family apart.
It would be so awesome if the show was kinda an act and they just decided to use the opportunity to milllkkk this situation for money by putting on an act.. I'd soo watch it anyway just out of respect.
