Fox Speaks On Idol Voting Controversy

Fox has released a statement regarding accusations of voting irregularities during the American Idol finale which declared underdog Kris Allen the winner.
Show sponsor AT&T provided phones for texting at Idol finale parties in Arkansas supporting Kris Allen. And the AT&T employees taught partygoers how to cheat and send multiple text votes at once!
Says Fox:
“Fox and the producers of 'American Idol' are absolutely certain that the results of this competition are fair, accurate and verified. Kris Allen is, without a doubt, the American Idol. We have an independent third-party monitoring procedure in place to insure the integrity of the voting process. In no way did any individuals unfairly influence the outcome of the competition.”
As host Ryan Seacrest mentioned on air last week, more than 100 million votes were cast during the finale and Allen had reportedly won by a large margin.
Even the maximum votes made with the AT&T phones were not enough to tip the competition.
The phone company still effed up but Kris Allen is America's favorite!

They made sure that the votes that came in were accounted for properly, not the means by which they were gotten. I am an Adam fan but the bottom line is for a show that has lots of young viewers, this does not send a very good message…..and anyone could win by a large margin if they could test a million times without much effort.
How awful of American Idol to broadcast that Kris Allen won by a large undeniable margin. Couldn't they have just made a statement about the results being e fair and verified? Just makes them look really bad to me. No class! I hope Adam Lambert shows them all up with far greater "fair, accurate and verified success" than Kris Allen or many of the other winners in past years! I bet he will!

Favorite to the American south… but most kids and international fans prefer Adam. I think they both won….. Kris and Adam will both be fine. Does it really matter who came in 1st or 2nd? Last year it was the Davids… if David C was 2nd and David A was 1st… it would not matter, they would sell the same. Many times the 2nd is more popular… like Kat and Daughtry over Taylor and Clay over Ruben. Jennifer over Fantasia..and Jennifer wasn't even 2nd. No biggie….

As for Fox's statement, it proves NOTHING. Cheating still took place and corruption is unacceptable. Oh well, their careers will be telling. And I can tell you, Adam will continue to be the bigger success.
Sorry perez but 38million votes out of 100million came from Arkansas. A state with only 2.8million people living there. Since I highly doubt babies, toddlers the elderly etc voted in Arkansas there is no way 40percent of the entire vote came from that little state without CHEATING.

I'll never know how Kris won. He's all right, but Adam is so entertaining, has such incredible range, and he doesn't just stand there in the middle of the stage like a cardboard cutout. Kris isn't interesting at all. He isn't fun.

personally I'm a Kris fan and almost every one of my friends, family, & co-workers were as well. He sings music that more people listen to these days. He's beautiful and very humble. I wasn't surprised he won. I was sick of hearing Adam scream. Most people I know who watch the show said the same thing.

So AT&T passed out cell phones, and taught people how to block text. So if a few hundred people sent out a few hundred large texts each that could have amounted to millions of votes. Combine that with the fact that many phone calls don't get through due to busy signals and all texts go through. Seems like it could have had an effect, but whatever.

American idol is rigged, has been the past 7 years. And clear evidence has been shown in the past years. So their "statement" means nothing. I am a Kris and Adam fan and its neither of their faults that they entered a corrupt show. Either way whats done is done, a winner has been clearly "choosen." American Idol is a Conservative Fox show that caters to a Middle American audience with the average age of close to 50. So, good for Kris that he got more of those voters. He's a nice generic guy. Adam is a flaming gay guy who was not going to win. Fellow contestant Sarver told him where he's from "you are in the closet or you are dead". People aren't going to vote for Lambert after the pictures that you posted. He's happy at least he did that well.
Perez - I don't think you'd be in America's top 1 million people. Hope you are happy and having fun tearing down Adam. What he accomplished was so amazing. He went out there and made it to the end being completely himself. Good for him. And he didn't diss or slam anyone. A gentleman all the way.

Not only should AT&T be accountable, ie., a polite apology that it won't happen again, they should be sued for FRAUD …. in what they did. We should all be able to vote AGAIN and sure Adam would win. What a crock that Fox is sweeping this under the rug.

Congratulations to the winner's Simon Fuller, Ford and the favorite, AT&T. First, they exploited retarded people in the early season, then more talented finalists (in owning contracts) and ultimaely exploited the voting television audience who then not only sold to the avertisers by the thousand, but then charged the audience to participate in their own exploitation. And, of course we loved it. Hit us again! Oooo.. So good!
Both are winners.
Both now have opportunities they never had before.

Imagine 40 million votes came from Arkansas alone, and there's only nearly 100 million votes cast.
They should have used some technical enhancement to achieve that, otherwise it's impossible how Arkansas vote can overrule the votes of the rest of America.
And some voted for Kris just because they are homophobic bitches and don't want Adam to win.
