Adam Lambert is staying in that closet as long as he can, but he's still preaching about being true to yourself.
In an interview yesterday, he said: "It's a really, really cool thing to be able to show people that you can be yourself, and you should be proud of yourself, and you should own who you are and what you're about, and never make apologies for it."
He also relishes in the opportunity to be an eccentric role model for young Americans and show them how to be comfortable in one's own skin.
"It feels really amazing to be able to try and pass that on to kids and young adults who don't have a role model like that."
That's great Adam, except you're not really doing that.

Not all gay people base their entire life on who they sleep with. People like Perez only hurt the gay rights movement by being so loud about it. I support gay people and their rights, but I do not support people who want to take about their sex lives NON STOP! and who want to be called husband and husband or wife and wife. As long as he is not out there bashing people for their sexuality, HIS sexuality is NONE of our business. There is nothing wrong with someone wanting to keep their sex life private. It's personal, and not yours or my business who he has sex with or even if he has sex at all. Bashing this young man because he chooses to keep his sex life private is just as bad as bashing him for his chosen sexuality. Perez, I adore you, but please don't cross the line and become part of the problem. The goal is love for all, not just love for people who keep to your agenda.
Said it before and I'll say it again: He does not need to COME OUT to justify himself or appease you Perez. Heterosexuals never have to publicly proclaim their straightness so why should homosexuals have to tell the world their gay? You talk about equality but it seems you are missing the point.

It is such a shame that you are not blogging about Adam because of all of the positive things he is doing, you are still going on about his sexuality. He seems to be very comfortable with who he is, and quite honestly, if he is comfortable then that is good enough for me. His idea of being a role model is to show everyone how to be comfortable in their own skin, and he is doing an excellent job of that.

When he talks about feeling "different", he can be talking about his homosexuality and/or lots of other things about himself. Adam has made it clear, over and over in interviews that he chose songs that dealt with social issues. He was glad when people were savvy enough to know WHAT he was talking about when he sang "A Change Is Gonna Come" and "Black or White" among many others.
