Madonna spent her Saturday with the fam at the 2nd Annual Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic to see Prince Harry play a few rounds.
Her Madgesty brought sons David Banda and Rocco to the game on Governers Island in New York and schmoozed the day away with designer Marc Jacobs.

"American Life" - 674,000 / "Ray of Light" - 4,250,000
I'm just pointing out that her newer music (where she sells out by hiring popular producers & artists to duet with) doesn't sell nearly as much b/c she is viewed as a sell-out and no longer the woman who changes the face of music.
PS: "Hard Candy" did NOT go platinum in the USA. 714,000 sold to date. It was her second biggest dud next to "American Life" which was horrendous.

"Hard Candy" - 3,512,000 (long gone from charts)
"Circus" Britney Spears - 3,000,000 (still on charts)
"The Fame" Lady Gaga - 2,011,000 (still on charts)
I used Shitney and Lady Caca because you despise them so much and see them as threatening to your hag's success. You should be threatened because both of their albums are still peaking whereas "Hard Candy" flopped.
Successful touring doesn't always mean an artist is still relevant. If it did then that means Tina Turner, Cher and Celine Dion are still relevant too. They aren't.

Let Madonna be popular in Europe and the rest of the world. You're all known all known for holding on to American relics from the past (i.e. David Hasselhof, Jerry Lee Lewis). The only reason Beyonce and Brit didn't place higher was because their albums came out the tail end of 2008, but their albums still had a longer shelf life than HARD CANDY. Of course Madonna didn't promote it. Face it, the album sucked.

If the charts don't matter, then why did you bring it up? I was only correcting you about Madonna having the 4th best selling album of 2008. I am aware of what's in Billboard; as a matter of fact, I'm probably much more knowledgeable than you when it comes to music. Madonna does have a lot of chart history, but we're talking about the here and now. Why do you think Madonna goes on tour? It's not that she needs the money (or maybe she does). She knows her albums don't sell that much anymore, and it's not because of downloading, because other artists are actually selling more than her. She knows that she makes more money than anyone with touring, and doing so gives her the impression that she's still relevant. You keep bringing up charts and sales figures, but what do they really mean? Can those chart numbers prove she's more talented? A better singer than anyone else? McDonalds Restaurant probably sells more food than anyone else, but that doesn't make what they serve a gourmet meal.

You just throw out some number like 5 million sold. You are so clouded you can't even debate properly (let alone speak properly). Get your fatcs staright, she did NOT sell 5 million worldwide.
Cher and Tina do still get airplay in Europe (as do other has-beens like Belinda Carlisle). Here in the US Madonna's only charting single was "4 Minutes". Debbie Gibson could get a top 10 again if she had enough money to hire Timbaland and Timberflake.
PS: Hard Candy DID suck. It was terrible. You really should idolize someone who is at least sexy, attractive and talented…this woman is ugly inside and outside.
