How sad!
A contestant on the Bulgarian version of Surivior was rushed to seek medical attention after completing a physical challenge on the show. Despite the efforts of the medical team, the 53 year old man died of a heart attack.
Bulgarian news reports say he was a town mayor and a former stunt man and singer.
Don't they do medical checks before being cast in these kinds of shows?
We smell a lawsuit. Get ready Mark Burnett!

It was really only a matter of time before something like this happened. I am pretty sure they do medical checks on the contestants and they certainly know what they are getting into when they sign up to do this crazy shit so it isn't anyone's fault but the person themselves for doing such a stupid thing.

They do medical checks prior to the show and the participants sign liability waivers as well. Short of negligence, the show is safe from suit.

It's not the first time that someone dies on a show like survivor, acually, last year the host of the dutch version of survivor died during the shooting of the program.
I am not a medic, but I think heart attacks can happen to anyone. So I'm not sure that a medical check could have saved him. But on the other hand, for a show like survivor I think it's key to have a medical check… It's not a show for unfit people to participate.
Have you seen the application and the waiver they make you sign? They are protected from all angles. No lawsuit.
Of course they do a medical check and they also make you sign waivers. People die doing physical activity all the time. There will probably be lawsuits and they might lose but ultimately it is not their fault. People know the risk going in to things or else they are dumb.
I'm sure they do medical checks, but that doesn't mean it'll catch every possible underlying ailment.

Ever heard of a liability waiver Perez? Besides, seemingly perfectly healthy people die of heart attacks all the time. Very sad, but no one's fault.
Was wondering how it'd be before that happened.
