OMG!
Valley Girl is being remade into a musical (as a film – not for Broadway, yet)!
The brains people behind Shrek: The Musical have big plans for the remake of the 80’s teen classic, originally starring a rebellious Nic Cage, to be directed by Jason Moore.
The musical is said to be a “Romeo and Juliet-inspired musical built around the movie’s new wave soundtrack.” The original soundtrack featured songs by new wave one-hit-wonders such as Modern English and The Psychedelic Furs.
This remake will either be genius or a giant bomb!
(We’re leaning towards bomb!)
