Twilight Director To Tackle Hamlet

What’s Twilight director’s Catherine Hardwicke’s next literary film adaptation?

Shakespeare!

Hardwicke is reuniting with Lords of Dogtown star Emile Hirsch to “create a modern-day supernatural thriller based on Hamlet.”

Hardwicke says she never expected to be adapting Shakespeare and admitted that the task is daunting, but assures everyone that “You will understand everything without having a copy of Shakespeare for Dummies with you.”

Somehow….and we’re going out on a limb here….we don’t think this film will be anywhere near as successful as Twilight.
