Yet another remake of an 80's classic!
Someone must think these flicks were pretty bad the first time, right?
Variety is reporting that Dimension Films has acquired the rights to the 1986 cult classic Short Circuit. Original screenwriters S.S. Wilson and Brent Maddock have been rehired for the remake and the theme will stick close to the original fim , but it will factor in "advances in technology."
That means a faster, cooler, more high-tech looking Johnny 5!

You'd have to pay me a million dollars to see this remake. A LOT more for any other. There is no price high enough for me to see a michael bay "movie."

This must be one of the worst movies ever made. I could see doing a Police Academy Redux or something…Geeze, even 3 Men and a Baby would be imaginable…but seriously….seriously? Does society really require this? I mean we are forced to see tv spots for those terrible SciFi Channel features, do we really need to do Short Circuit?

I've loved Short Circuit since I can remember… I kept saying to my boyfriend, "They need to make a Short Circuit Remake". It would just be interesting to see how it's done… of course, it would probably never come close to the first 2!
BUFFFAN: I did notice Wall-E was a cross between Johnny 5 and ET… that was the first thought I had when I saw the trailer

NOOOOOO! I love the original (and the sequal) Steve and Ally better make cameo apearances! I might go see it. Johnny 5 was so awesome, he was mad cute too… seriously, anyone who hasnt seen this movie has got to rent it!
NO i would not go and see it… nor will i bhe watchin the flight of the navigator remake or drop dead fred remake…..
That was a good movie way back when…afraid this could possibly ruin it…
