David Letterman Pisses Off Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin isn't a fan of David Letterman's humor, now is she?
To celebrate Palin's recent visit to New York, Letterman took the opportunity to take a few jabs at Sarah and her family on Tuesday night's Late Show!
During the funnyman's opening monologue, he poked fun at the former VP-nom's 14-year-old daughter, saying: "The toughest part of [Palin's] visit was keeping Eliot Spitzer away from her daughter."
Ha!
Both Sarah and her husband Todd have released statements shaming Letterman and his 'poor taste' in humor, of course.
From Papa Palin: "Any 'jokes' about raping my 14-year-old are despicable. Alaskans know it and I believe the rest of the world knows it, too."
And from Miz Palin herself? Get ready for a mouthful.
"Concerning Letterman's comments about my young daughter (and I doubt he'd ever dare make such comments about anyone else's daughter): Laughter incited by sexually-perverted comments made by a 62-year-old male celebrity aimed at a 14-year-old girl is not only disgusting, but it reminds us some Hollywood/NY entertainers have a long way to go in understanding what the rest of America understands – that acceptance of inappropriate sexual comments about an underage girl, who could be anyone's daughter, contributes to the atrociously high rate of sexual exploitation of minors by older men who use and abuse others."

The joke they were mad about wasn't the Spitzer one, or Dave making a crack about Sarah Palin's "slutty flight attendant" wardrobe, which he did, but rather the one where he said the 14 year old Palin daughter got "knocked up" by A-Rod during a Yankees game. Which would involve sex. Which would have been statutory rape. Which is unfunny.
I can read. I read this story on multiple real news outlets and dozens of blogs before Perez picked it up and relayed it wrong. You might want to learn how to read yourself, because if you did, you would know what really happened.

The comments from the Palin's are referring to the joke about being "knocked up by A-Rod during the 7th inning stretch" or something like that. Obviously the joke you posted doesn't imply rape in it, you posted the wrong one. Oh, and the daughter they are referring to, Willow, is 14 years old. Who the hell would think a joke like that is funny about their 14 year old? Come on now.

1. He made the joke about the 14yr old daughter Willow who was in attendance at the baseball game (not the 18yr old Bristol who was not)
2. The joke inferred that Spitzer would have sex with the young girl (14yro) which =statutory rape.
3. Any joke about someone having sex with a minor child is disgusting!! and inappropriate no matter who their parents are.
4. If anyone had made a joke inferring sex with Michelle Obama's daughters—that individual would be appropriately tarred & feathered.
5. Sarah Palin is a public/political figure–jokes about her is one thing. (Letterman called her a "slutty airline stewardess" as far as her attire–he's entitled to any of those comments)–but people's minor children are not to be victims of jokes—let alone perverted sexual innuendo.

Bristol wasn't at that game, you "bonehead". Willow was. She's 14. He said something nasty about the wrong daughter. Either way, it's completely tasteless and disgusting, but the fact that he (inadvertently) said it about a child is especially awful.
Maybe someone needs to put out a joke that David Letterman's son has sex with his pre-school teacher. That might give Dave some perspective about disgusting and perverted jokes and how they are not funny or appropriate for kids. He'll get his someday…that stuff has a way of coming back around.
