Soccer stud Cristiano Ronaldo has accepted a world record transfer offer from Real Madrid.
He will be leaving Manchester United to play with the Spanish club for a hefty $131 million.
A rep for United said, "At Cristiano's request — who has again expressed his desire to leave — and after discussion with the player's representatives, United have agreed to give Real Madrid permission to talk to the player. Matters are expected to be concluded by 30 June."

A club however can accept a transfer fee althought it is still up to the player and interested team to come to their own deal. He is being sold (transferred), not traded. Traded is something done in US sport.
He has not accepted the offer, the owners of his contract, Man Utd have. He will agree (or not) personal terms that Real Madrid will pay in addition to the transfer fee.
As a European player in a European league, you should have the sense to call him a football player, not a soccer player.
