Uncle Karl had some unkind words for everyone's favorite German supermodel, Heidi Klum…again!!!
In February, Karl Lagerfeld mentioned that Heidi "is no runway model. Heidi Klum is simply too heavy and has too big a bust. And she always grins so stupidly. That is not avant-garde - that is commercial."

Now, he is attacking her family and fame!
"I don't know her," says the catty designer. "Claudia Schiffer doesn't know her. She was never in Paris, we don't know her."

This is upsetting. Love Karl Lagerfeld (creative/artistic genius) but apparently he has no ability to appreciate that which doesn't appeal to his sense of aesthetic, or definition of beauty. The suggestion that someone's physical "imperfection" be used to discredit their person is so declasse and completely uninspired. He said he almost died from an allergic reaction to the vaccine. These were his OWN words, that I read years ago. He does NOT have Lupus — which, doesn't go away, and which can ultimately kill you. I hope this puts an end to the ridiculous speculation.

I've seen the interview live on German TV and it is quite unfair how Karl Lagerfeld is treated around the world. If you hear him say that words in the context of the whole interview you will realise that he just meant that he just doesn't know her in person. They have never met, and Heidi never had a big career on Paris' catwalks. Everybody knows that she never has been one of the haute-couture topmodels.
In fact he even said that she is doing great in commercials. No bad words about her.
And concerning Seal I don't know why nobody mentions that Lagerfeld said that he loves his music and voice and that he thinks Seal is a great musician.
It is always so easy to just recite some sentences without the context of the whole interview and then assume it is meant in a bad way!

When Heidi suddenly began being referred to as a supermodel, I thought it was completely misleading. Supermodels are Naomi, Christy, Claudia, Elle, Linda, Cindy, Kate, and Giselle. They were stars on the runways and editorial pages, as well as in advertising. Heidi never was; she was catalog all the way. She was tremendously successful, and has become a household name, but to call her a supermodel is simply incorrect as anyone with any knowledge of the difference between an editorial and commercial girl would know.
