All the movie news we've been reading about lately in some way or another, riffs on something from the past. In continuing with that trend, the Nashville-based 821 Entertainment is planning on launching a King of the Cowboys film trilogy about restaurant owner cowboy Roy Rogers.

The company secured the rights to Roy's likeness from his son and along with the movies, they plan on a possible animated show, interactive games, and merchandising.

CEO Eric Geadelmann explains the films will "not be a biopic, and will not be a traditional Western, but rather a family fantasy adventure. Roy Rogers, Dale Evans and Trigger are quintessential figures of America, and we will introduce this franchise to a new audience while capitalizing on the millions of Roy Rogers fans worldwide."

Alright, first of all- a trilogy? Really? What if the first one bombs so bad you can see the smoke from space? Then you're shiz out of luck!

Second, cowboys and Indians went out with metal lunchboxes and jukeboxes. We kind of doubt kids will even want to see this.
