It's here! The first single off Adam Lambert's forthcoming album, On With The Show, which is expected to be released later this summer.
The song is called Want, and it leaves us doing just that - wanting more.
It's a pretty mid-tempo song, definitely leaning more towards pop than rock. We like it, but it lacks the personality that made Glambert such a superstar on American Idol.
Adam sounds great on the song, but it's just not that memorable. Or so we think.

Apparently, this album WILL be released this summer, which we thought was VERY quick. However, we've just learned that the songs on it were recorded in 2007 and 2008, before Lambert was on American Idol.
It's being released by a label other than the one he signed to after he came in 2nd on the show.
Wonder what he thinks about a whole album of old material being released????

I liked the song. Adam's voice sounded good. But I don't think American Idol will allow an album to come out without their approval. I think they'll be putting the kibosh on it very soon.

Uh.. it's said in the post that these were recorded pre-Idol and it's not necessarily an 'official' release. It's probably his previous label trying to ride on the coattails of his fame by releasing an album they weren't intending on releasing before he was famous.

Oh shoot!! i wonder how this will work with this company trying to upstage him! I do love the song though. I love everything he sings. But this album will not have the big money that RCA will have poured into it as well as the big producers that he is working with. I never heard of Hi Fi. I don't think it will hurt him. It pisses the crap out of me that he is being taken advantage of!! Why didn't they do something for him when they had him. Now when he gets famous on his out without them but through his sheer talent they try to capitalize? He auditioned with millions of others and made his way through the audition process, Hollywood week, etc etc to make it to the end. He did that and now they want him??

I was broke at the time and this was my chance to make a few bucks, so I jumped at the opportunity to record for my first time in a professional studio. The work I did back then in no way reflects the music I am currently in the studio working on. I’m thrilled to be working with some of today’s hottest songwriters and producers and can’t wait for people to hear what my music really sounds like.”

Let's all remember… this is PRE-Idol! His post-Idol work will not come out until the Fall. I don't see his new songs being any less exciting than how we heard him roll on Idol! He knows what he wants and w/Lady Gaga's Producer at the helm, I think it will be amazing! I can't wait!

Hey this is pre-idol and personally I really do like the song. Adam's voice is amazing as usual, the lyrics tell a story and the tune is kind of on the mello side. Something to listen to when you go to sleep or just want to relax. Anyway, the song has my vote. His songs now will be much different but like I said, I like the song. Catchy tune…

They could at least have the decency to wait until he's released his REAL album later in the year and allow him to promote that before they try to distract from it with these other songs which will most likely not be as good or well-produced. Adam and his management need to get the word out to the people and clear up the confusion so that people can judge him fairly. I imagine they have all their super-lawyers and big money to go after this bogus label too if they want. I just hope Adam gets his fair shot to prove himself and to do things HIS way.

Grr. I am SO sick of greedy a-holes! This label (HiFi) is taking advantage of Adam! Adam recorded a series of demos a few years back, and now this label is trying to release them as if he wrote and recorded them as part of a record deal. This is NOT true!! He didn't write the songs. The songs are obvious demos: they are underproduced and obviously not his style!
Adam Fans: Do NOT buy anything from this label unless Adam confirms himself that he will be receiving a percentage of the profits! You cannot believe what the reps from HiFi say. They are not being truthful; they just want to capitolize on Adam's popularity! I really hope RCA/19 nips this thing in the bud.

While a lot of people do not like this song, i personally love it. I find he sang it well, and at the same time i actually do find his personality shines through. If you listen to any one of the studio versions of his slower songs, it is kind of like this one. His voice can make anything wonderful, and i found he made this song sound superb.
Adam, continue to grace the music industry with your talent. Make great music, great cds, and great tours. I'll forever be your fan!

Lambert is a STAR, so those who don't like him or his music is someone who simple does jive with Adam Lambert, (can't please everyone) BUT lets all face it he has more talent than most that are already out there. His is tight so to speak. He knows how to cover every aspect of the process and analyzes all steps along the way before going forth with a plan. He is a smart man ! So don't worry, nothing with go by the wasteside so don't look the other way because you may miss something you actually like and change your view. I also rehabilitate injured waterfowl (ducks, geese etc) on my farm. I give to charities for both people and animals, and several times a year I go to the city and volunteer at the Salvation Army.
