Re: Killah – According to traffic by Alexa, before the last two days - he had lost 40% of unique viewers (not 10 million page views a day, which also count for reloading pages that don't come up properly, something incredibly common), many of us are watching the trainwreck implode and laughing at the comments section. Some of us, back when Perez was worth a damn, come to talk to each other here. I like ice cream - doesn't mean I drool over Ben or Jerry themselves. I'll still eat ice cream, even if Ben steps out and calls someone an icecreamaphobe.
I'm not surprised that people don't appreciate the quiet brilliance of that article, but it doesn't make the words any less valid.

It IS when Perez so publicly admits to trying to push a man's buttons to the breaking point, then makes an 11 minute video wishing for someone else's death. BTW, defending his actions about his site has NOTHING to do with calling someone what he did. In fact, the exact comment you made - Perez does it, it's fair - he SUED people for doing what he does. And threw a fit when he got sued for it. He badmouthed Isiah Washington for the same word he used, he should be prepared to take the same heat for HIS use of the word.
Re: chelleanena2001 – I also suggest checking out, because Perez is starting to lose so much of that cash and the influx of advertising (including a site with the worst customer service ratings ever and is dying out), he's going "clean" and WON'T be doing it anymore. He's following the cash trail of adverts from another popular site that overtook his in less than 6 months. Goog "blogads" and "Perez". It isn't about what he "does", it's about cash and now he's losing some. His rankings are dropping faster than a rock. Before this fiasco - he lost almost half his unique viewers over the last 3 months during the Prejean fiasco.

I actually can't believe the amount of controversy this started, and I am incredibly annoyed that GLAAD hasn't commented on this yet. Your choice of words was despicable, hitting you is not acceptable either.
Catfights and calling people out and pushing celebrities to come out, being demeaning towards women- a selective group of women at that- while keeping others on the holiest terms- is ridiculous. Level the playing field. These are simple grammar school rules. Don't call people names you don't want to be called, don't push people to make difficult decisions without thinking of their feelings or complications. What happened to live and let live?

Jezebel did a great job starting that conversation, and it's an important one. I chose to focus on Mayer's response, and the inherent dangers of victim-blaming—even, as I said, when that victim is kind of a tool.

From the article Perez says "defends" him - while now calling him a tool - I wanted to reproduce a comment I haven't seen touched on and I think it's excellent - from onesmarmymama: I'm sick of people defending Perez Hilton, a VIOLENT person, because his form of violence didn't leave an obvious mark on another persons body.

Seriously, though, domestic violence is so not the same as talking a bunch of crap and name calling and then getting hit because of it. That's a stretch. That doesn't make violence right but is it a surprise? Not in the least.
