President Obama Sends Condolences to Jackson Family

At a news conference Friday in Washington, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs was asked how President Obama reacted to Michael Jackson's tragic passing.
Gibbs told reporters:"Look, he said to me that obviously Michael Jackson was a spectacular performer, a music icon. I think everybody remembers hearing his songs, watching him moonwalk on television during Motown’s 25th anniversary. But the president also said, you know, look, he had aspects of his life [that] were sad and tragic."
He then added that the President's "condolences went out to the Jackson family and to fans that mourn his loss."

Guys I still can't believe Michael Jackson is dead.the 1st time I heard about it I thought it was a bad joke.but I have to say this now:I was born in 1980 and in my opinion Michael Jackson is the one who defined and tought us what pop music is but he is the one who DEFINED most than anybody else my generation and ESPECIALLY THE '80s DECADE.and I feel like a part of my childhood and teenage ;ife is gone now.may God rest his soul.

MJ was a spectacular performer, humanitarian, music icon….and like everyone has pain and tragedy in their lives. What a crazy comment! "He must have been….?" I suppose whenever Ted Kennedy goes…such a statesman…he'll probably be in the capitol rotunda!!!! (You see everyone has their tragedys!)
