Michael Jackson may be dead, but his concert producers are going to get their money, dammit!
According to a new report, fans who wish to witness Michael's funeral in Los Angeles on Tuesday will have to shell out $25.
$25 is kind of lowballing it, don't you think?
And if that's not enough, t-shirts produced for the "This Is It" show will also reportedly be on sale so you can take home a souvenir.
Tacky? Or a cool souvenir?

I think it's a cool souvenir. But really I've had enough of Michael Jackson.
I could understand their reasoning for wanting to charge $25 for the funeral given his massive debt he left behind….but I mean come on!! He's dead and you are still trying to get money out of him!!! It's truly sad. Instead of charging for his funeral they should make it free and on top of that come out with some kind of career spanning box set compiling all his music (Jackson 5/The Jacksons/Solo) and release that to make back the money….and after that release all his B-sides and Rarities (not including the catalog he left behind for his children). I would think given Michael Jackson's current album sales and the sales of those two ideas they would be financially stable for a while. Then as the years went on they could do what Elvis's estate did and come out with different sorts of albums of his material. Just a thought. But yeah charging for a funeral is just plain tacky and very offensive.

Great idea. It's no tackier than strangers who claim to be 'fans' attending his funeral. It's going to be a gong show, why not charge? Besides, those shirts will probably sell for big bucks on eBay once the funeral is over.
Kind of like one of his recent shows. You buy a ticket and Mike doesn't even show up. I think for $25 the fans deserve an open casket with close up shots. I've heard Mike is staying behind at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills.

Nothing is free. It costs tens of thousands just to turn the lights on in an arena for several hours. If it was held in a local church then I would say tacky, but in this case $25 is a small amount to pay to say goodbye to the King of Pop. If you don't want to pay it then keep your ass home and watch excerpts on tv or maybe the entire service will be televised.

Fact of the matter is - he left behind millions of debt. Plus the organizers are losing millions, because of some doctor. Sue the doctors too! I'm not so sure Michael would have disapproved in some way. Given he was okay with the ticket pricing, I'm thinking he would have thought it was funny. They'll pay $100's to see him live, or 100's to see him dead. Aside from all that - do you know how much it costs to rent out the Staples center for an entire day??? They didn't have to do ANYTHING for the fans, but they will be paying millions for his funeral overall. So I'm kinda mixed on the whole thing. Too many profited off him in life, sucked the soul out of him - but at least the fans have a chance to see him in state.

This isn't the funeral…it is a public memorial to be held in a concert venue for people who weren't involved in michaels life directly! With the recession and budget issues, I am somewhat happy that #1 the $25.00 will keep a small percentage of people away, since I have to drive thru that area to get to my JOB that day, and #2 i am sure that what some see as profit, is really going to refund the true fans that paid top $$$$ to see MJ in london. if not that maybe it's paying for security that the city cannot afford. quit sh&%%*#@ on the "funeral". First of all, none of this is confirmed, they are still working out the venue. Second of all, they are going to have a lot of costs related to the funeral and I have no objections with them getting it that way. If people want to pay, they will, it's not a lot of money.
