You folks calling Obama - Osama are a prime example. People were calling for Obama's DEATH? DEATH. As in KILL HIM. He said a brief statement on it and kept doing his job. Someone calls her a sexy stewardess and just like that she's found a soap-box to stand on. This move doesn't speak to her trying to save the tax-payer's money. The tax-payer's were paying for her to take her daughters on trips they weren't invited. The tax-payer's were paying for her 'out of town' costs when she was at her own house or within driving distance of her house. McCain's supporters were paying for her to wear Neiman Marcus and Saks while she was pretending to be a small time girl. No the reality here is that while she was in her small town Palin didn't have to exert too much to be loved and respected. Nobody asked too many questions. But when she stepped on the national scale suddenly her opinions were being tested against fact and the real-life circumstances of her own people. Her approval rates dropped faster than a hot potato.
Palin herself made the descent easier by choosing to leave town for national meetings and dinners when her own people were meeting to vote on important matters and hear from the individuals within their government. The nation's most loved Governer was now nowhere close to being such and was made clear in terms of her 're-election'. She saw the writing on the wall. She knew she wouldn't be getting into that office again and that she didn't really care about the position. She has her eyes set on the big house as we all know and since she's barely attending to her duties as it is she figured why keep wasting her time. Whether you like her or love her the reality is pretty doubtful she'll ever be elected into the presidency.
