MJ didn't want to settle, it was his "Advisors" who thought better to settle and move on then fight this piece of shit. Once MJ settled, it opened up doubt and gave other people the opportunity to accuse MJ of the same thing, in hopes of him settling out of court. Truth is no-one can be sure of what happened - I'd like to believe MJ wasn't guilty, but of course there's a chance he was. However, it's definitely not a classy move for King to be talking crap about someone who just died, especially when he doesn't know what actually went on. Shame on Pete King.

Yes, I usually get annoyed when people dwell on a celebrity's death, especially when I spent over 2 yrs worrying about my own husband's safety in Iraq, but that does not give him the right to spew out RUMORS about someone that has passed. If he was a proven child molester then I could understand, but these cases against him were ridiculous & the people were money hungry. Since his death, I have watched numerous videos of him & read so many stories & interviews by people. I am now even more convinced that Michael Jackson DID NOT do those horrible things he was accused of. He's just different & people don't understand him. To me, he IS a hero. Not only because of his incredible talent, but also because of the love he has for people. He truly just wanted to be a kid again, & wanted other kids to have the childhood he never had. It's bad enough that his life was filled with so much heartache & judgment…Now people won't even let him rest in peace after his passing. Just an FYI for the laymen: Coming from a family with several attorneys, a "not guilty" verdict means just that, the person is "not guilty". That does not mean they are "innocent" necessarily. "Not guilty" means there was not sufficient evidence to prove the person "guilty". It is a misnomer.
Secondly, the congressman has a point. I will broaden my statement to say that we give all celebrities in general too much credit and somehow hold them to hirer standards just because they are in front of the camera. Celebrities are held to lower standards because we as non-celebrities allow it to happen. I understand my own irony because I frequently visit this site. But people have to admit that celebrities can break the law, or stand on the edge of legal and illegal, and they are not punished in the same way a non-famous person would be.

The kids could have had a great time at Neverland, and at the end of the day, he should have given the kids their own tricked out room with tons of toys or whatever, and then he goes to his own room to sleep…ALONE! I would have respected his opinion that there is too much coverage on the matter when we have bigger issues, but he should have stopped after that. Jackson was never convicted of any of King's accusations, so Michael probably could have legally gone after Pete King for such statements if he were alive. It doesn't take a brave man to slander a deceased man; it's not kosher to speak ill of the dead simply because they can't defend themselves. What has stopped Congressman King from honoring the men and women of the Armed Forces BEFORE Jackson expired? Many people appreciate and honor brilliant artists, and some but not all appreciate and honor military. Some who are for art are against war.

Besides this, the military are consistently honored in many ways. An iconic artist passing is a thing apart from military. It's apples and oranges, IMHO. Both deserve honoring, and people have a right to honor whomever they so choose.

I think what people are actually starting to resent is the 24 hour/7days a week over the top coverage of Michael Jackson's passing, which may or may not have had some hand in the Congressman's righteous outburst. After all, mainstream media is wholly responsible for this O.J. Simpson type coverage (all channels, all the time, for weeks too long), and they particularly do this if there is a hint of scandal present (i.e. Anna Nicole), repeating the same speculation before facts over and over until people want to scream enough, already. It's an easy story, and their newsroom staff and reporters ride it for ratings and have a breather from looking and working on other pertinent stories. What is wrong with the media? You become what you think about.

That's upsetting. I believe in Michael's innocence and it's terrible that people continue to drag his name through the dirt when people like Wade Robson have come to his defense. I think Michael was someone who just truly loved children. He built Neverland as a place where children could have fun, not as a lure. It's sad that in today's world, loving children other than your own child is seen as abnormal, or that letting children go to sleep on an adult's bed while the adult sleeps elsewhere is automatically sexual. I feel those accusations say more about the minds of the accusers than the accused.

I'm so tired of hearing that we should be honoring our soldiers. They knew what to expect when they signed to be in the army. Most of them are dump fucks anyway. You know, it's no wonder why Republicans are being looked down upon more and more these days. As a politician, what gives HIM the right to point out anyone's flaws?
