Harry Potter One-Ups Edward Cullen

It's going to be an epic battle between wizard and vampire until all the movies are complete. Then, all the nerds can return to their corners with their books and sulk. Until then, the race to see whose movie will do better is still on.
Right now, Potter is in the lead as the newest film installment, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, is on track to replace Twilight as the third top-selling advance ticketer in Fandango history. The flick has already surpassed Sex and the City, Iron Man, and the latest box office smash, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
We know that this one is going to be epic, but we also have a feeling that after this Potter film surpasses Twilight, New Moon will come out and kick the crap out of Potter. According to a Fandango survey of more than 3,000 moviegoers planning to see Harry Potter, 45% claim they're also fans of the Twilight saga!
Ah, so the vampires will be stealing some fandom from the wizard team. We think they'll have no problem regaining their title come November.
But in the meantime, enjoy it Potter-heads, we hear it's going to be one hell of a movie. Be sure to take nap before heading to your midnight showings.

We went to the midnight showing last night and I wore my sparkling dazzling hair from HairFlairs online.
All the people who loves Twilight loves Harry Potter but NOT all the people who loves Potter loves Twilight, so i think HP is gonna beat it.

It was one hell of a movie! I was pissed about things they added and things they left out but was so amazed at Tom Felton's performance that I couldn't really think about the stuff they left out! Tom did an outstanding job. I hate Draco Malfoy but I felt so bad for him in this movie. I can't even explain how great of a job he did!

in terms of quality, harry potter is better. i completely agree with stephen king about the two authors, but the reason why twilight is so fascinating is because the idea of edward cullen makes teen girls and their moms go ballistic. i do agree with you on this one, perez. harry potter will top twilight, but when new moon comes out, it will top this previous harry potter, and then so on and so on. the advertisements for new moon is already generating sooo much hype, so i do think it will surpass harry potter. but i think the final results will show that harry potter trumps twilight =)

New Moon is going to kick HP's hiney when it comes out. However, me thinks that with the massive decline in book-quality (ha!) after it, the other movies won't do as good.
They should just stop at two and save it.
However, HP will come back again and give them a massive beating with the two-parter.

While the "Twi-Hards" cherred when every charactor apeared and every time Edward spoke, HP fans stayed quiet so we could enjoy the movie. HP WINS EVERY TIME!!!

Fantastic Movie! I thoroughly enjoyed it. The only problems that may affect the final movies were made in previous installments, so not much could be done, eg) The absence of the Bill-Fleur Relationship means Shell Cottage=huh? From a detached point of view, staying away from the books, i found it thoroughly enjoyable and cannot wait for DVD so i can watch it over and over again.

Okey, I´ve watched all the HP movies, and the only one I thought was good was the 4th.The others are soo boring!!! And comparing all the six HP movies to the one and only little Twilight movie, isn´t fair, at all! Twilight did not have as much money as the HP movies are having! At least wait until new moon and eclipse are out, and then u can start. And even by then the HP movies has made 7 movies and the twilight saga only 3. But comparing them now is just not fair at all. I´m personally into the twilight saga, and please don´t judge New Moon until it´s out. And btw I don´t have anything against the HP movies, don´t worry, I´m watching the 6th, but new moon IS going to be 100 times better then twilight adn maybe Harry potter, just wait…

Potter films are so much better than Twilight. Twilight was such a low budget, cheese film. Make-up BAD, FX BAD, acting BAD. If it wasn't for so many people "in love" with pan face Patterson maybe you would notice how horrible Twilight really was. I was looking forward to the first one because of all the hype and I watched it and couldn't believe how horribly directed it was. I hope New Moon gets better budgeting and they give 1/2 the cast (Kristen Stewart is the worst) acting lessons. Twilight will never last the test of time while Potter will be read and watched by many generations to come. I can't judge the Twilight books because I never read them, but the movie was dissappointing with it's 70s special effects and Halloween make-up kits.

The official numbers came in and it was actually 1300 people went to the midnight showing of Harry Potter.
Damn.
Why are these two books/movies even comparable? Minus having Robert Pattison in both, the two have nothing in common. Harry Potter Books/Movies are eons beyond the freak-feast that is Twilight. Twilight fans make me sad to be female.

I'm a big twilight fan but it NOOO WAYYYY can compare to harrypotter. Maybe edward cullen can cause he's suchhhh a freaking dreamboat, but the harrypotter books are on another level they're sooo entertaining and detailed and this whole other worldddd, and the movies are fantastic too. I'm a fan of both series I guess, but I think Harry Potter hands down is the better written (books & scripts), better acted, and better produced of the two. I'm especially excited that the 7th installment will be broken up so finally all (or most) of the details J.K. Rowling put into the story will be given screen time. That's the only thing I can criticize about the Potter series, the books have to be condensed and cut far more when made into films

Here is the thing. People were into the books way before the movies for HP, but even though the Twilight books are good they didnt sell out like they did until the movies were made. The final 2 parts of HP will be two of the highest grossing movies out there I can guarantee you. Plus HP started out with little not as good looking kids and older weird looking people and still did great, Twilight wouldnt do half as well if it didnt have hot actors in it! People are more in love with Rob Pattinson than the actual movies… Twilight will never be what HP is!

First off HP appeals to all ages, the books are written much better, the fans like the movies, not just the actors, the movies stick to the books better, and many more reasons. Lmao…you WISH!! There were OVER 2500 people at the midnight showing in my town. I live in ALABAMA!! With all the Southern Baptists who supposedly hate Harry Potter and there were OVER 2500 people!! Suck on that! The theater doesn't even have a poster up for that twilight movie.
