It’s only July, but it looks like Michael Jackson may posthumously become 2009’s top-selling artist.

Naturally, since his death, Jackson record sales have skyrocketed, and according to industry website Hits Daily Double, Sony Music has shipped more than 8 million CDs globally since the singer died, and that doesn’t include downloads.

Prior to Jackson’s death, Taylor Swift’s brills Fearless dominated the charts.

And certainly there will be “repackaged titles, possibly some previously unreleased material and the DVDs of the concert rehearsals” to follow.
