It looks like he didn't know what hit him until his hair was well on fire. He was a real pro and danced up until people reached him. Burns are so painful; it wouldn't surprise me if this was a turning point for painkiller use. Very sad.

This explains the skin color changing a lot though. Burns can cause discoloration….or maybe it was his excuse to be white I don't know, but I would still expect physical scars from this and I don't remember noticing any on Michael when he became white….hmmmm or maybe this made him go crazy. As for the drug abuse that probably took years and years to escalate.

…I saw it years ago and it was very much downplayed after the fact. There was more coverage of his supposedly 'questionable behavior' than this horrific experience. OMG this breaks my heart. As if MJ didn't have enough to deal with–adolescent acne, teasing and beatings from his father, the pressures of stardom, and then THIS happens to him. I knew it happened, but seeing this footage is really heartbreaking. I miss him so much. I support him and always will. Even when his face and head are burning, he does the superstar thing–his classic spinning dance move–to help extinguish the flames. I love you Michael.

Yes, that's the reason. Its know that Mj had to take painkillers because of that accident. Anyone would have to take painkillers. He suffered second degree burns to his scalp and had to do surgery. Michael Jackson then sued PEPSI. Pepsi settled out of court, and Jackson donated his $1.5 million settlement to the Brotman Medical Center in Culver City, CA, which now has a "Michael Jackson Burn Center". Typical MJ, a caring man.

That is very sad. Burns are one of the worst things that can happen to a body. I think Michael suffered alot more than anyone really knew. Now, thanks to drugs just being handed out like candy, he is gone.
